Anyone going 9 Dec? What's happening that day?

Hey everyone, I tried to make reservations for a week at FW starting the 9th of December but was told that everything was booked, every campsite, every value and every moderate. When I called back the next day was able to get a week starting the 10th but the 9th was still booked for all of it. Is there an event going in one of the parks or all of the parks or what? help!!

If you're going, I'm just curious if it's a special event that you're going for. Thanks.

I'm guessing locals are staying at WDW for Christmas happenings on Friday and Saturday night. Checking in on Sunday opens things up for you when they go home.

Will be at WDW 8th -15th.NOt going for any special event on the 9th.I would guess maybe they are filming the Christmas Parade on 9TH and that has spiked crowd levels for that event.This is just a guess on my part.Keep trying people are always canceling,good luck.

We are going Nov 30-Dec 11. Not part of a group --- just a family trip. Dec 3 - Dec 9 is Pop Warner week -- a high school football and cheerleading event. From what I have read, they are pretty busy during the week so it does not have as big an effect on the parks as it does on the resorts. The group and their families stay at the values and spill over into the moderates once the values are filled. I believe there are other conventions scheduled that week as well -- Mousefest for one.


The parade taping is the first weekend in Dec, not the second.

You can check out this table that I used for planning at *****************. Out of a week with crowd levels at 3's and 4's The ninth is a 7. WE are there from Dec6-12. It just so happens that the ninth is our day off. We have a character Bfast and the Hoop-dee-doo for dinner and maybe MK late night, but no other parks. Let the crowds enjoy Sat.

1 is no crowds, 10 is walk on heads crowd level.

ABC Christmas Day Parade Taping Dec 1-3

We are going Dec 8th -15th as well. As far as the 9th goes, it is the end of Pop Warner week. The XMas parade is the previous weekend so that doesn't explain it. I am planning on going to MK that day and I am thinking I'll have to deal with pretty big crowds. I will just try to follow a touring plan and hope for the best. We are planning on going back to MK on the 12th which is a very light crowd day so I figure we will catch the stuff we missed on that day.

I'm thinking it's a seven because on the 9th MK is open until 11pm and there is no MVMCP that night so I think people are taking advantage of that.

Keep trying, we had ressies at FW from Nov 30th-Dec 8th and I kept calling to add on the 9th and 10th. I called yesterday in the afternoon with no luck and then I called early evening and got both nights added on. I got a preferred site. Maybe you need some pixie dust!!!!!

I'm going Dec. 8-16th and I couldn't get the All star movies, so I'm going to Pop century. It's also pop warner week at that time. I hope nothing major is going on. I was hoping for low crowds!

I called this afternoon and was able to add 2 rooms at POFQ for 12-9. My ressie originally started on 12-10. I was even able to get the AP rate. Keep calling. You never know when the pixie dust might fall!!!
