Anyone go to the Big E in Mass.?

Anyone been to the Big Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield Mass. ? Thinking of heading there for the day on Saturday and wanted some opinions on it.... Thanks for any info!

I went several years ago. It was fun! However, it's EXTREMELY crowded on the weekends, so get there early. All in all, I enjoyed myself very much.

I am going on 9/22 (Thurs). I have been several times, but have not been for a few years. I remember going as a kid and Saturday's are always VERY busy. I would suggest getting there early. I was reading that gates open at 8a and most of the buildings open by 10a. Hope you have a great time!

I live in West Springfield and go to the Big E every year. It is FUN, but everyone else is right, weekends are very crowded, although with the weather forecast for this weekend, it might not be too bad. Make sure you get a Big E cream puff - they are awesome!!!

We usually go every year. Love to eat around New England!

It's very crowded on the weekends so be prepared- especially around lunch time. If you want a loaded baked potato from Maine- go first thing!

Haven't been in a few years -
always went on weekdays!
always had fun and ate and drank a LOT
(crab cakes in the Maine Building, beer at the Beer tent (duh), perogies, wafles with strawberries and whipped cream...mmmm)

We go every year, heading up on Sunday to see Gretchen Wilson. Planning on going back for seconds one day next week, depending on the crowds. Have fun !!!

We haven't been to the Big E in a few years, but we're thinking of going back this year. I love the fall for one reason - FAIR SEASON!
