Anyone Getting Tired of the Same Old, Same Old?

Are you early or late seating? I’ve never had a problem getting a private table.
Early but I don’t mind switching if we need to. So far our sailing isn’t very full. Too bad they added a Pearl level or we’d try to upgrade our room (we did not get the earliest PAT).

Obviously it makes some people happy.

Why do people go to DL and WDW year after year to experience the same attractions and shows that they have memorized?

Heck I argue that Disney’s biggest fans are so hung on nostalgia that they get upset when things are refreshed. If Disney were to replace Carrousel of Progress, there would be an uproar. “how dare you, it brings back memories of me breastfeeding my son.” Who’s now 30 and has his own kids…

We always do late that is probably why.

After this many cruises the only major complaint I have is that I am completely and utterly over the dining situ onboard. In a way it's nice the menus are boring because we are going to just skip the MDRs entirely if we don't get our own table this time. I honestly don't know what we'll do if they also can't help us out when we sail the Panama in '26... five nights is one thing but I don't think I could go 14 nights with only deck food!

They do switch up the menus for the Panama cruise (at least they did when we went) so you don't get the same menu each time you're in a given MDR.

I agree with both of this. The menus are stale. Would like to see new ports.
New ports? There are so many to choose from in the world! We’ve been not only Caribbean , Mexico, but South America, Australia, NZ, Europe, aound Cape Horn, sailed across the Atlantic and Pacific, Alaska, Hawaii, Iceland, Canada and more. Coming up we go from Tx to PR, on another we’re going to Greece, we’re doing an Aurora Borealis cruise. Just seek and ye shall find! (Menus on Disney are better than other cruise lines even if repetetive!)

Yeah but consider the way that DCL does their cruises and it's highly segmented. For instance in Australia it's also very short cruises at 2,3 and 4 night cruises. For someone from the continental U.S. flying to Australia for that short of a cruise is unlikely. I did see a 5 night one from Sydney to Auckland though. The Australia cruises are generally for the Australia and New Zealand residents similar to how the Singapore ones will be as well.

Mexico is still in the same general vicinity as the Caribbean. I'm not saying the same region but there's a lot of general overlap in that area of the world. Just go to their website and put in Bahamas, Caribbean and Mexico as far as destinations and out of the cruises shown on their website 613 out of 738 cruises are contained within those three very close areas. That makes it out to be 83% of the cruises available for booking on their website at the moment ONLY in those 3 regions all of which are very close to the U.S. so if you're looking to see the world it's not going to be on DCL at the moment.

ETA: 524 out of 738 cruises go to one of their islands or 71%.

There still is outrage about Carousel of Progress being removed from Disneyland and that was 51 years ago!!!!!!!

Oh I’m only worried about having to share a table for 14 nights… I don’t think I have it in me. I have conversational anxiety. I manage it fine 99% of the time and work in a social environment chatting most of the day, but a long meal everyday with strangers I’ll never see again? I feel stuck. I truly spend all day worried leading up to it, feel like I’m on eggshells through dinner, and then fret all evening about whatever my brain decides may have been taken wrongly. It’s exhausting and no way to spend vacation. I need my spoons to be recharged when I go back to work.

I would love to know what other lines you've sailed!! I wish to do all of that! :worship:

I feel similarly. I can do it when needed, but it is a lot of work and not my idea of a vacation. There could be that rare situation where we would just click with the other people and have a wonderful time, but the upside isn't worth the downside risk to me. And fourteen days would be too long, no matter who the other people were. I don't even want to see my good friends more than a night or two in a row. :)

We cruised the British Isles with 5 other couples and put more emphasis on the destinations than the cruise.

Food was boring night after night, money was taken out of Cabanas menus and really bland and that got people talking they wanted the cruise to end.

So we focus on the destinations more than the cruise and judge the ship by its merits. Especially compared to other lines and hold that thought.

Love your screen name.
👍

I cruise to explore different itineraries or explore the ships. Majority of my cruises have been on the Wonder because of her destination sites. Therefore, yes there are a lot of stuff that is repeated. Therefore, you can choose which activities/shows you want to do. I tend to do the longer sailing itineraries.
