Anyone get Upsell for Fall?

Has anyone gotten a upsell for fall or winter?Just wonder what is the latest month that they have come up with?We got one several years ago and it was during the last week of June and the first week of July but this time I'd love to get one for fall or winter.I know it may be to far off to get anything for then,but it doesn't hurt to ask.Thanks.

I'm going in late Sept after free dining and I have tried and tried to get an upsell. It seems everyone that is getting it is going around July. I am going to keep trying. I would love the Beach Club.

When I was booking our Free Dining trip on 4/12, the CM was offering an Upsell to Beach Club, Boardwalk, etc. for about $3300. Our dates were 9/7 through 9/15 but we were looking for Pop Century Standard (which wasn't available at the time). I would have loved to have gotten an Upsell for a Mod resort instead. The Deluxes were still out of my budget. LOL It was the first time I have ever been offered an Upsell so I was excited anyway.

Yep...I was booking a trip when she told me that there was an Upsell available to me.

Seems the upsells are becoming more of a commonplace.....

Many years ago we had a ressie at the Caribbean Beach and when I had called to check on something about our ressie,they offered us the GF for the price of the Caribbean Beach.At that time,I had never heard of them doing that and I know what our travel dates were when they are very busy,(end of June and first week of July).After the CM told me that it comes up without any notice on their screen and they transfered my deposit to the GF and sent me a new conf. with the same Caribbean Beach price but it was for the GF.When we checked in to the GF,I was so worried that something would be wrong or a problem,but it went fine and we even got lagoon view to make things better.Since then we have made a least one or two trips every year and have never been offered a upsell again.Getting a upsell or a code for 40% off (not counting on that) or a really great deal for the fall or winter will be the only way we will be able to go this year.Lets all hope for more upsells,40% off,free dining,or one of the best ones,pay for 4 and stay for 6 or 7 (I can't remember which number it was,its been so long ago).Everyone needs all the help we can get cause a trip to WDW isn't cheap.But so worth it!

When are looking to go? There is Free Dining being offered if you go between 8/26 and 9/22 (or at least check in by 9/22). Will those dates work for you? HTH

We would love to go in Nov or Dec.We have been in May,June,July,Sept,Oct and Nov and this time we are looking for some kind of discount for Nov or Dec.I know that there might not been anything other than AAA,but,I am always looking anyway.We have always used some kind of discount,(codes,packages,free dining,etc) and we hope something will come up for us during these months.Do not want to go the week of Thanksgiving because our daughter is getting married the Sat. after Thanksgiving.It seems like we get emails for codes during months that we can not go.But at least they send them.Thanks for the help.

I was the beneficiary many years ago. They seem to be much less common now-a-days.

Disney would not call it an "upsell." They refer to it as a "Manager's Special" or somthing like that.

If you call and ask for availability at a certain resort (say a value or moderate) sometimes a screen will pop up on the CM's computer with a special rate for a resort the next category up. This is usually because the resort you are asking about is nearing capacity and the resort with the "special" has lots of rooms available.

Years ago we called asking about rooms at one of the moderates and were offered the WL for somthing like $20 more for the entire week. However, that was shortly after the lodge had opened and had no following. I doubt anything like that happens now.

As far as I can tell you cannot ask for these rates - the CMs can't control when the offers come up. It is not something they can look up in the reservation system. It seems to be based on resort occupancy for the dates you are asking about.

It has also been reported that if you decline and call back later you probably won't get the same offer.
