do they have a problem with you ordering your dessert to go? Many places I could think it would be nice to take a little stroll after dinner then eat our dessert while watching the fireworks?

Nope- we did this last year- had it for breakfast the following morning :)

No problem at all. I did this with Koko Puffs at Kona Kafe. You might want to bring your own bag to carry it(them) around easier. Not sure the restaurant would be equipped to supply that. But then again, this is Disney World.

We asked at Chefs de France, and was told the chefs did not like to do that. This was the only place besides Le Cellier that we had any trouble. Le Cellier was very nice about it, and even suggested it.

We ordered our desserts to go at several restaurants and were accommodated at each request. We didn't end up eating many of those desserts though.

You're right-Disney is prepared for anything! We had half of a birthday cake left at Mama Melrose's last year and they boxed and bagged it for us to carry out! (So, there we went to Fantasmic with this big box of birthday cake....:rotfl2: )

OK! I just gotta ask! When did you get those Koko Puffs? I love those things, and I thought they took them off the menu a couple of years ago. If they're back (or if they never really left), I'm makin' a reservation for October!

To the original poster: We ordered our desserts to go many times, because usually we were just too full to eat them, right after dinner. You shouldn't have any problem at all doing this.
