Anyone get the "What's your hat say?" code?

Thank you, i'm going to give them a call today!

Charleyann

Disney sent me a code via email! Gosh, Going to stay for 4 nights. Then go to Best Western Lakeside for 2 weeks. At that rate Disney was cheaper then Best Western and I get Magical express! I was going to pay 55 nightly at The Best plus tax and airport transfers. Now I don't need to! This will be our first time staying on a Disney Resort. We are booked for All Star Movies!

Hi Everyone

I made a few phone calls today. I will share with you what I was told by a CM ,the good news and the bad news.....

They are sending out postcards and emails aimed toward the Canadian market for 40% off as you know. When I asked how they determined who gets one? The lady said that if you have stayed at WDW before you are in their data base or signed up with them for promotional stuff like trip planning kits etc. There are many criteria which she wouldn't share them with me except that because we have an existing reservation with WDW during one of the periods listed we would not be offered the discount. There is no need to send out an incentive if we are already booked. So that's the bad news...if you already have one of those dates booked you probably won't get one (unless they were sent out before you booked then you may be lucky

The good news is that they are still sending them out. The lady said they just sent out a batch of emails today at 3PM.
Hope that helps with some of the mystery of who gets them and who doesn't.

I have a question for you ....I have read that some people got a "40% discount" and also that some people got a discount of "40% off value resorts"
Can anyone clarify this?
thanks

Now there's no limit to the fun, because you can see Walt Disney World Resort in Florida your way at 40% off on standard rooms at select Disney Value Resort hotels!

I just got mine today too!

I am so excited!

I just booked the CR (garden wing room) for 3 adults with 5 day base tickets and the DDP for 5 nights for just under $2400!

The agent also stated that I could use the code again (as long as I book by March) so I have a good discount for my December trip as well! Woohoo!

Oh, and to answer a question - the email states 40% off value resorts but the agent I spoke to said it was for just about any hotel during those select dates and it is good for room only or package deals so I got 40% off AND the DDP!

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it - I'm about to lose control and I think I like it

:wizard: Pixie dust for anyone else who is still hoping to get the code.

I got the postcard in the mail and it said 40% off value resorts (room only). However, when I called an talked to a CM, he said that it is good for any resort, and also for packages.

Here are some quotes I got:

(the dates are all the same: Aug. 25 - Sept. 2: 8 nights total)
( all rooms are standard, although higher class rooms are available)

Room Only:

w/discount: $1701.04 ($189/night)
w.out discount: $2835.04 ($315/night)

...a savings of $1134!

MYW Package w/ Dining

w/discount: $3238.84
w/out discount: $4649.64

...a savings of $1410.80!

Sorry, I must have been writing my post while you were writing yours

Thanks for the info . Since I don't have a card or email, would someone mind telling me the dates that are listed? Maybe I could contact Disney for a discount code later in the year

I know that if you check into a resort during Value season and part way through your stay a higher season starts, you get the Value season rate for your entire stay. Does anyone know if you check in during one of the weeks with the 40% off, does the discount apply for your entire stay if you stay past the dates listed?

I'm not sure if the night of the 22nd is included but. I did get the 49.00 a night for the value that night.

WAAHHHH :sad1:
I want one!!!!!!!
If I get one, I will definately go for Halloween and if not, then its a maybe. It has been 4 very long years since I went to my happy place. I would think they would eagerly send them out to people who haven't been in awhile to entice them back.

Woohoo! Got one in the mail today! The weird thing is that it's addressed to DH, who has never made a reservation though he's always been staying in the room under MY reservation. Guess I'll be booking in his name this time! Hope hope hope they have something available for our dates at a moderate or deluxe.

Received my 40% off yesterday. Call my TA (who is on this board) and was told that it is good only for room only. I have a package, room, tickets, DDP and one night with room only so was able to get it for that night. She mentioned that if free DDP comes out, I would not be able to have both.

Well, I have to admit, I'm feeling very left out & disappointed! :confused3 I called & there is nothing there for me on the computer that says I get or will get the discount. And it's so frustrating because I've been holding off on booking a ten day trip that would have fallen exactly at that time that others would be there using their discount card! It's awful but I'm sort of feeling ripped off! I feel that we were there April 2006 so we're in their system....why aren't we getting this 40% off card??? Grrr! :furious: :furious:

Others have booked it with dining and I just spoke to Disney and was quoted this offer with dining and tickets. I would suggest you have her check again.

I received the card and there was no mention of me having a discount available in the "my offers" section. Try calling instead and see what they have available when you want to go - sounds like there are a few different "degrees" of discounts going around right now.

I called Disney and the first person said the 40% discount was Room Only. I called again. I told the second person, I had the 40% discount and asked her for a quote for a package and she quoted the same as my TA. She said taking the package with room, tickets, DDP is already discounted compared to taking everything separate. She also quoted me the Room Only 40% for the my 1 night Room Only and again it is the same that my TA got me with the 40% discount.

I am the Disney Vacation Specialist (not a TA) whom Phabric booked with.

Yes - you are correct - this offer DOES work with MYW packages.

But (there's always a but) it is only good on certain weeks (August 21st - October 6th being some of them). Phabric is checking in on August 19th, so unfortunately it won't work for her reservation. Which is why Disney gave her the EXACT same rate as I did.

Besides, she's better off to wait for free dining anyhow as it saves MUCH more than 40%. :)

Free Dining (IF it comes out) would save more than this promo in most instances.

I am sure you looked into what is best for your clients situation, for myself I often book two or more ressies for one vacation to maximize whatever discounts are available. (such as a change of season or to coincide with a promo code). There are many implications when doing this as far as tickets and such so it isn't always the best option for everyone.

Luckily I am booked on the free dining for my wedding trip in August (bounceback offer) for 3 of our rooms. Hoping for free dining to come out for the general public for the other three guest rooms I need!!

Your 100% right, I did. Seeing as this Disney guest wants the dining plan (even if they have to pay for it) 'room only' was simply not an option.

for myself I often book two or more ressies for one vacation to maximize whatever discounts are available.

On a side note, it's only a matter of time before Disney finds way to stop this sort of thing from happening. Believe me, they look down on people who reserve more than one room for the same vacation, as all it does it stop a potential new guest from being able to find availability.

No different then the old days when one person could book as many tables as they wanted for breakfast with Cindy. Disney changed those booking procedures for the exact same reason.
