DH and I have been hesitant about riding MS because he gets queasy from Star Tours. We would like to try the new version. Anyone feel ill after riding the toned-down MS?

From what I read, the new version doesn't move. You can't get sick on something that doesn't move.

The Green version does move. It doesn't move alot but, it does move you facing up at launch, comes back facing forward during the ride, shakes and points you down at the crash landing. I hate simulator rides with a passion but, I did do the Green team MS. It really didn't bother me as much as Star tours.

DO NOT GO ON THIS RIDE!! I too got sick and queasy from Star Tours and Mission Space is about 10 times worse than that!! It wasn't just me either. I was with my family which consisted of about 7 people all together and we all felt like throwing up afterwards. They even have throw up bags INSIDE of the ride as you sit down in your seat. Obviously they are there for a reason.

Look, I'm telling you to just NOT go on this ride. It isn't worth it. When it first started up I actually panicked because I couldn't breathe for a few long seconds. It eventually stopped and I was able to catch my breath, but after that happened I was begging for the ride to stop because I felt so sick.

You felt this way after riding the New version " Green Team" ?

Was that on the original version or the toned down version?

Huh?!! Don't go?! Why.. the poster above you just said that the new ms does not move. so there's no way you can get sick or throw up from that. the thread wasn't talking about the one that spins.. they were talking about the stationed one- one that does not move.

Actually, you can forget about what just I said. I just realized that you said the toned-down MS. I'm just curious though, what is the toned-down version? I never heard of it.

We;; the hole family here did both version and just dont see hat the big deal was?

The wife and the 7 year old did the tone down version and felt it was a waste of time.

After all the talk we where also let down on the extream version of the ride .

We all got off and felt is that it? I must say I also can not do rides that spin like the tea cuos but mission space did not bother me at all .

I will also add we did the ride this month

The new version DOES MOVE, just not spin. It tilts forward and backward quit a bit and quickly. I did the ride on Monday and am personally glad I tried it but will not be doing it again. I did get a little queasy and was glad there wasn't another minute to it or who knows. JMHO

BTW, I can't do tea cups but do soarin' and Test track (though I occassionally experience a little queasiness)

HAH!!! You obviously don't have severe motion sickness! I can very easily get motion sick on something that doesn't move! DH won't even let me near an IMAX theater!

But I do plan to take my meds and try the new version of MS--I would never dare try the original. I suspect I will feel a bit queasy (Star Tours does it too), but it will be worth it for one try.

omgoodness! tea cup i can do as long as my kids don't spin the cup! i almost puke when my son went crazy and spun the cup so hard. i was mad cause i told him a few times to stop. well.. he was enjoying the ride he didn't mind what i was telling him. so now.. he rides by himself and my daughter and i just ride by ourselves. we're all happy.

We did it a few weeks ago and the mild version is VERY easy to handle. It isn't bad at all. I wouldn't go on the other version, and I won't do the Star Tours one again. I get sick from the tea cups at MK. This new mild version didn't bother me at all.

Go! Enjoy! You will be fine.

I have extreme motion sickness. I rode both Star Tours and Mission Space (green) with no problems. My secret? I closed my eyes when I started to feel sick. The kids never knew, and I got to experience the rides. The movement isn't bad at all when you aren't watching the screen, and on MS they blow cold air in your face the entire time. You should definitely try it!!! :thumbsup2

I am a hardened WDW thrill seeker I even stayed "off-property!" LOL I wish the vomit backs had a logo on them that way I could take one without feeling weird I like to collect things from attractions. I have a piece of cobweb that I grabbed off a chandelier in the exit queue of The HM
