I recieved an email notification from JB today within about 20 mins. I got on their website & tried to get the $79 flight from ORlando to Boston. NONE left on my day of travel....actually week of travel except the Thursday, which was supposed to be a blackout date. I called them thinking it was perhaps some type of computer gliche. I was told 3 different answers to why there were no fares at that price, from the same customer rep. I finally very very nicely requested a supervisor. I apologized for bothering her & thanked her for her information. I understand if they were no longer available, I just wanted to make sure. It's a difference for me (well actually for 2 of my kids)off $90 per flight. The supervisor told me all the seats at that price were sold. Okay, I can accept that. I am just wondering if anyone got one from the disboards.

I'm brutal, I check how many seats are reserved for certain flights, hoping the prices will go down. ( please know I am aware they could also go up. no flames please. And, I've purchased 4 r/t tickets already & 2 one way, we are only looking for 2 return flights at this point). Now, I checked prices at about 9 am, got the email at 9:21a.m. was logged into the JB site by 9:45am. I had checked the unreserved seats about 1 1/2 weeks ago & there were only 29 seats reserved. I checked after speaking with JB there were now 37 reserved seats. (this is on the same flight I have seats booked on). So, I know it is possible that is the amount that they had slotted at the sale price.

Also, curious what you all think. Do you think they may have another $79 sale between now & mid October? Oh, it's for the Monday after Veterans Day.

I got that email too. I am flying Bos to Orlando early Dec. Got right on the website after I got on the email and there is nothing from 12/1 onward (just before that is Thanksgiving blackout). I want to fly out 12/3 a Fri but would consider Thurs 12/2. Nothing in early December until either the 12th or 13th, too late for me.

I went so far as starting on 9/14 the day the window of opportunity opens and found the sale for all week days in Sept, Oct and early Nov til Thanksgiving. I am convinced it simply does not exist for early December. I don't think they ever had those fares then. Frustrating. And the fares are ridiculously high at that time. I even priced a return Orlando to Bos on Sat 12/11 that was $393 - I nearly fell off my chair!

I don't blame JB for me not getting in on time to get the price. I just wish they were able to give me a staight answer the 1st time as to why. I think mayb eht original girl I spoke with was new, but I've worked customer service, and have found JB has always trained their reps well. I am a little concerned the quality of training maybe going down. And in general when I get non confident answers, plus they change the answer it makes me a little suspicious as to if I am getting the correct answer, or for that matter if someone is trying to pull the proverbial wool over my eyes. Which is why I asked for the supervisor. Who almost immediately informed me I had missed the window of opportunity. She even confirmed that one flight in particular had sold out of the sale fares and gone to the next "pricing level" very quickly.

It would be nice to hear that a disser was able to snatch up one of these great flight deals. :thumbsup2

I got an email from Jet Blue yesterday about sale prices as well. I too thought it was a computer glitch because I couldn't find any discounted fares anywhere. My older kids are looking to fly to various locations in the up coming months, some of which should be on sale, but weren't as of when I checked yesterday.

I thought it was a computer glitch that the prices hadn't been updated to match the email. Bizarre.

Me too. Nothing available for my dates in Dec. And I wasn't really surprised. JB does this all the time. Yeah, they 'said' there were $79 flights, but I couldn't find one. Add to that, the slowness of the JB site and well..makes me severely irritated.
I would be surprised if there were many, if any, discounted flights between Boston and Orlando for JB to begin with. One would think that the late day, connecting flights would be discounted, but they weren't.

On my Yapta account, I'm watching 6 purchased fares and watching 4 waiting to purchase fares. All on Jetblue. I've not seen any movement for a very long time. However, several of my purchased fares I got at incredible prices, so I don't really expect them to get better. But some of my watched fares have not moved in a long time, yet they are on less travelled days (Tues, Wed -- no holiday).

Do you mind explaining to me what a Yapta account is? Sounds like something I might be interested in.

I wish they had the same monthly grid thing that SW has. It would make it so much easier to find the lower rates.

I agree that Jetblue is always doing this, advertising low fares, but trying to find the fares can prove to be very difficult! :rotfl2:

Yapta.com is a tracking site. You put in the fares you purchases or fares you're watching and if there is movment, they email you to alert you. Sometimes they caught it before me, but sometimes me before them. It does help. This works well if you're booked on an airline that offers credits (like JB). Plus you set a price you are watching on a fare you want to buy and if the fare gets to that alert price it lets you know. I tell my alerts to let me know if my fare drops below my purchase price for the ones I've booked. You have to move quickly though, because some sale fares only last 24 hours, sometimes less.

Can you tell me how you check to see how many seats are reserved and unserved? Can you do it on JB's website?

If you have a reservation you can click on "Change seats" and it will show you available seats. Some are reserved and are not available, but it will give you a general idea. If you do not have a reservation you can set up a "Dummy" reservation and go to the select your seat part of the process and see the remaining seats that way as well.

Thank you. I think I will set this up.

jaff87, like TheWog said, I set up a reservation, & go to pick seats as if I were going to purchase a ticket, but then end before actually giving any payment info.(although as far as I know you must key in passenger info) That atleast gives you an idea of how many seats are reserved. Again, keep in mind some people don't pick there seats ahead...though I can't imagine why.

Still noone was able to take advantage of this sale huh. That really is too bad. I LOVE JB, but may consider doing last 2 tickets thru SW even though they aren't nonstop flights.

I think I wasn't, if that makes sense, but I still got a good deal thanks to this thread? I jumped on a low fare that was outside the sale period, but still in December - so, thank you, Deesknee. I will now not only be going on vacation, but coming home as well :rotfl2:

Yay! Glad to share the magic!

I did not take advantage of this sale...but I took advantage of a prior sale back in March for our trip coming up on Sept. 22. I bought 6 tickets for our trip from IAD to MCO at $49 each way (plus tax and fees, of course). I have seen several sales since then (just not as low...mainly around the $59 to $79 for the same flights) since then. If I had not gotten my tickets back in March I would have been able to take advantage of other sales since then.

I do notice though that the sales are for specific days. Fortunately we are traveling a Wednesday through a Tuesday. Generally, those days are usually the cheapest...although not always.

Our flight is now full going down which I sort of expected since its the only nonstop on that day.

I hope some of you are able to take advantange of their sales as they are one of the better airlines.

I got my JB flight our of Dulles for September 29th for $59. Which is a great rate. Congratulations on that great price. We are flying down on a Wednesday and home on a Tuesday, so got $59 for the flight home too.
