Anyone get real nervous before a trip?

Yes always think I forgot something but it never matters. Disney has everything you could possibly need.

I am ALWAYS nervous the last few days before my trip. I know that I bring these nerves upon myself, spending late nights up reading every last post on the disboards :surfweb: When I start to pack, I create list upon list and lists for my lists. I always over pack and kick myself when I am repacking to go home. I end up emailing all of my reservation stuff to every one of my emails and print a copy just for each suitcase and one for my carry-on. (Just in case some HUGE world wide computer failure happens that causes all of my email accounts to be deleted simultaneously while shutting down airline and Disney computer systems all over the world :rotfl: I always sleep to music but the week leading up to the trip, I have a special cd for each night for listening, with the last night being a cassette from the 80s with Disneyland park music. Like everyone else though, my first step onto Main Street USA and like magic :wizard: all my worries are gone!

Before every trip, I always have nightmares that we get to the park and I forgot our tickets at home. Every single trip lol. It stresses me out so much, until the point we get to the hotel and I have my park tickets in hand!

I have been a ball of nerves myself..we leave next Friday and for the past couple nights I have been having crazy dreams..one where we go and get home and I realize I forgot to take any pictures at all..another I had last night where we were running late to the airport and my friend and her family showed up for us to go to the airport and I wasn't packed my suit case was sitting on the bed empty !! So today I believe I will go through the suitcase and make sure everything is in order lol

I usually work up until the day we are leaving so DH does all the packing and getting ready. This time it worked out that I worked last night and am off and we don't leave til Thursday morning. I of course am now stressing. I don't like to fly so usually I am so tired when we leave I don't think about the flying cause I can fall asleep.(I work night shift so it usually takes a day or two to get my system back to normal). This time I will be wide awake and ready to go.
Getting very anxious and nervous. I will be much better Thursday at about 9:30am when I am on the ground in Orlando.

I wish everyone a safe trip

My DH does and it drives me nuts!!!!:scared1: This year and our departure date was approaching (not to Disney tho) my DD, 19 joined my DH in his anxiety! Between her multiple work obligations, finding subs, doing her laundry packing "all the right things" omgosh!!!:scared1:

Next trip to Disney will be for 9 nights and she claims "I can't possible be away for that long Mom!" I did suggest she take a later flight and meet us there!:rotfl::rotfl2::thumbsup2

I was just going to post this exact same thing. So, I guess I'm not the only one, huh? Good to hear. I do worry that I'll forget something, but my biggest worry is my kids. The week or so before I get so nervous that someone is going to break a bone or need stitches, etc. I guess it's because I have 2 little boys and we do make fairly frequent ER visits. I'm paranoid every time we drive somewhere that we will get into an accident, etc. I also worry that someone will get sick, but at least that's usually fairly fixable. Then I worry that we will oversleep, miss our flight, etc.

Minutes after our plane takes off, everything is good. Four more days, four more days...Friday by this time, I will be one happy camper.

Very much so! My employees now that they are no allowed to book routine appointments with any of my more "difficult" patients within 72 hours of takeoff. I always get extremely paranoid of getting bitten just before a trip since my DD LOVES the waterparks so much.

That reminds me we are only 3 weeks out, time to stock up on vitamin c.

I don't get nervous, but super excited.....I rely heavily on my lists....what to pack, what to carry on, what do to before leaving home....

we leave in 18 days, and for some reason, I'm not excited yet....someone at work asked my today if I was excited and I said no.....don't get me wrong, I am really looking forward to going.....especially getting away from work for 9 days.....maybe by next week the excitement will kick in......

Since our flight doesn't leave until the mid afternoon, I decided to go to work for 4 hours in the morning.....what was I thinking????? :confused3 Oh well, it will help pass the time before leaving for the airport.....

I mostly get nervous about someone getting sick. There are 6 of us so it's not that far fetched. I have a dd that does all-star cheer and a lot of times kids come to competitions sick so it's really stressful. I do like to come home to a clean house too so I might get a little crazy about that also.

Yes, I do a little bit, but DH does too! Before we left last year he had to go throw up in the bathroom! Poor guy, he will kill me if he knows I posted that!

WOW...am I glad to see this thread!! I always get nervous before a trip..especially Disney. I do have a history of anxiety problems, so that is part of it. I do all the planning (which I enjoy) and the packing (not so much enjoy!) but I think I get nervous mostly about the unexpcted. I worry about missing flights etc, but also if I get sick before the trip, or sick while I am there. I worry I will ruin my sons trip if I get sick. I wish I could relax and enjoy life more

I always get really nervous before a trip, but my shrink told me something a few years ago before a long awaited trip to Europe that I felt was making me crazy nervous. Apparently the nervous receptors in your brain are right next to the excited, and sometimes what feels like nervous is really just EXCITEMENT :cool1:. So now when I think to myself "I am so nervous!" I remind myself "No girl, you are just super excited!"

YMMV, but for me, it helps.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks...used to throw up before every single trip...sometimes so much so I could not get on the plane. Frustrating as heck because I'm not afraid of flying at all, and if I were going someplace unpleasant I didn't have this reaction....finally I am letting go and conquering this. I will use your reminder if I happen to get queasy...(along with every other trick and medication I know!) :thumbsup2

I have to wake up in 10 hours to catch my flight. Just finished the last load of laundry and now I'm starting to pack, lol.
Yep, I'm nervous, but I keep reminding myself that we aren't going to Zimbabwe - anything I forget I can replace there (almost).
So, just making sure I have DD's medicine and all of our tickets....

I get really nervous lately. It mostly stems from flying. I've never had a fear of flying , but recently I get nervous taking all my kids on the plane. So much so that I talked with my husband about driving next time.
As far as the actual trip itself, I run around like a chicken without a head a couple days before. I work myself into such a tizzy that I'm exhausted before I even get to Disney!

Nope, but I get butterflies because I'm always EXCITED. Can't sleep before the night before we go...

But, I'm like that with any trip. I guess it's the anticipation of leaving home and changing the environment. :)

I've had a therapist tell me the same thing when I was going through some anxiety. It does work! :thumbsup2

I get the dry heaves whenever I get anxious. Because we have been so many times to WDW I rarely get them. Next trip might be a problem because our car is getting a little old.

Nope, just get tired  Can't wait to get "on the road" so I can relax!
Now, I'm not a flyer, so that would really get me, but I have no worries, we don't fly anymore.
