Anyone get Rachel Rays new magazine yet?

ScoJo, that pic of your daughter and RR is just too cute. I wish I had known she was in Atlanta...my 4 year old niece loves her and watches every episode. She would have died to see her in person. How can you find out when she's in town?

Also, I've heard the same thing about her looking skinnier in person. My friend Andrea went to a book signing and commented exactly the same!

What a great experience!! Thanks for sharing ScoJo!!

Thanks beattyfamily. Maybe we should have a DIS meet there! :)

Here is her wedding picture...she looks great and they look really happy. They married in Montalcino, Italy last month.

Well I love Rachel Ray and Sandra Lee. I don't care much about their "odd" personalities quirks, we've all got them. How about you tape 100 episodes a year and see how often you repeat yourself.

Personally, I watch for the great recipes and no one can deny they don't have them! Some are more healthy, and some are obvious comfort foods. The hotdog-mac casserole...how is that any different than serving a loaded hot dog with a side of mac and cheese? :confused3 Certainly not something I'd serve everyday, but I guarantee that show was about having a fun meal (and satisfying kids), not cutting calories. Although I'd bet good money her mac 'n cheese is way more healthy than the box kind. ;)

Anyway, off my soapbox. I think both of them have great ideas and I've made several of their recipes. Always turn out great. And to the poster who wants that Santoku knife, it's worth EVERY penny! Sandy Claus bought mine at Williams-Sonoma for about $75. You'll never need another knife!

I don't care much for the quirks, but I still watch! They all have fabulous recipes and tips for everything! Even Emeril makes things look so much easier to me...I am not as intimidated by recipes anymore...of course, that could be because I am also a culinary arts major and have to confront my fears of food...lol

I soooooooo want those knives! I keep talking myself into them and then right back out of them. I'm a pastry chef student and I keep telling myself that I don't really need them for cakes, etc...but I just can't pull myself away from them! Is there a 12 step program for that? ;)

I just checked out her recipe, and there was a great and easy recipe for mexican posole - I can't wait to try it!

I just saw a commercial for David Letterman. Guess who will be on his show tonight?? Rachel Ray!

I always watch 30 Minute Meals since I have no patience for cooking. Even though she doesn't do a lot of the prep work herself, it doesn't really add a lot on to the cooking time for me.

It's amazing how different she looks on her shows. She looks very modern and chic on $40 a Day, but always looks kind of pudgy and frumpy on 30 Minute Meals. I recently saw her FHM picture. :earseek:

I've commented to my husband how on 30 minute meals her breasts always looks... odd... like her shoulder pads slid down a little. Now evertime I watch the show he says he can't help but stare at her chest.

Everytime she says, "Oooh yeah!" all I can think about is the Duff Man from The Simpsons.

I accidentally saw those too! My first reaction was shock and disbelief. I still think maybe they were doctored but when I told my DH, he just had to look into it further and he thinks they are real. I am surprised that she'd pose like that!! :earseek:

I believe QVC had the Santoku knife on air over the weekend. The folks calling in were raving about them as well.

I like Rachael too - even though she annoys me - so nobody take this wrong...

Does anybody else watch Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" on the Travel Channel? In last night's episode, he was going through some painful, tortuous massage ritual. It was obvious that he wasn't enjoying it at all and just wanted it to stop. In the narration he said something like, "At this point, I would have done anything to make it stop. I'll cry like a baby. I'll say that Rachael Ray is an amazing cook..."

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

FHM is a "men's" magazine. I use quotes because I read it cover to cover each month and I'm not the only gal in the world that does.

Yeah, her spread came out a few years ago. It was quite shocking, but I think she looks pretty good. Julia Child she is not. ;)

WHat's an FHM picture??

Do an image search on yahoo for Rachael Ray FHM. I would post a link, but I'm not sure they are appropriate for Disboards.

I think they're real, as in she posed for them, but they look very digitally enhanced.

i'll check that out when i get home from work. doesnt sound like i should look at it while at work. thanks for the explanation. I never knew she did that! where have i been??

Everything in mens mags, from Playboy to Maxim to FHM - is digitally enhanced! I watched a show on this once that showed before and afters - it's amazing what airbrushing and a computer can do! :rotfl:

Oh man!!! I will JUST be getting back from WDW then and I am 2 hours away! WAAAH! Could I possibly pay a DISer to get a cookbook signed for me??

We love Rachael Ray here !! My daughter is 5 and loves to watch her 30 Minute Meals. We've tried a few of the recipies in her Cooking with Kids and they were pretty good.

The picture posted earlier of the little girl and Rachael was just adorable !!
