Anyone get caught off guard by the American Express commercial during the Oscars?

HAHAHA...Got me. Not my dd of course. It is on after the "interesting" Liliy Tomlin & Meryl Streep discussion, presenting Robert Altman as the Honorary Oscar.

I won't spoil it for others but I was "got".

The only AMEX commercial I remember was with that direction that did "The Sixth Sense."

Yes that was it. I didn't recognize him...I thought it was the best thing I saw all night. His traditional "surprise ending" got me...curse you M. Night!

It got me and my husband! Normally we mute the TV during commercials (they drive us crazy), but that commercial intrigued us so much we actually unmuted it!! Great commercial!

I had seen a promo for it so I knew to expect it. But what got me was the Miller Beer commercials. There they were talking in such an uplifting way about making choices to move your life forward or stay in place, & then they bring out the beer. I was like Huh?

I really like that commercial - but I had seen it before that night - the first time it did take a sec for it to register who it was....very cute...
