If I place each suit or dress in a dry cleaner bag and then pack in a garment bag shouldn't I be OK? I would like to iron/dry clean everything before packing. Will this be a waste?

As soon as I got to our room, I opened up my garment bag and hung things up....Surprisingly, I had no problems with my dh's suit and our dresses. What few wrinkles that were there just fell out.

I did pack some wrinkle spray (Can't think of what it's called right now) and used it on some shirts, etc....It worked great!

I am a big-time ironer, but never picked one up the entire trip!!! Woohoo!

karen :)

We do the same with our evening wear (drycleaning bags, hanging garment bag--hanging it up ASAP) and also use Downy wrinkle release. We roll everything else and put the boys outfits in gallon size zip locks. We've never had to iron yet!

Downy wrinkle release works very well for knits, and synthetics. Anything we had that was really wrinkled, we put in the bathroom on the back of the door, and the steam helped "dewrinkle".
Also, packing and rolling clothes in dry cleaning bags halps keep the wrinkles out.
I avoid ironing at ALL costs. Even with clothes being packed in a suitcase and tossed all over, I didn't need to iron at all.

Packing clothes in dry cleaning bag worked perfectly for me - and that included my formal wear and the kids' formal wear. Our suitcases have that built-in garment bag.

Makes for easy unpacking since all the clothes were on wire hangers from the dry cleaners.

since I was packed for a month before the cruise  the dry clean bags did not help with wrinkles - but, I found that the cost of "pressing" is very cheap. A gown is only $4! and wrinkle release is great for the rest!

It is very cheap to have your items pressed on board. First thing I did was pull out anything I wanted pressed. I think it was 1/2 of the dry cleaning cost and had them come and get them. They were in my room that evening.
Best thing I had ever done and will do again in March.

We used the back of the bathroom door trick as well. Worked great - by the time I was wearing everything it was wrinkle free.

I never iron on a cruise. We just hang everything up and then hang items in the bathroom if they are still wrinkled.

One cruise we all had nothing but dirty clothes except for underwear and sent it all out to be cleaned and pressed the first day. I think the total cost was about $80 but so worth it.

I never ironed at all, of course I RARELY iron at home so there was no way I was doing it on vacation. I did use Downy wrinkle release on a few things and everthing else was fine.

we just put all our formal clothes in a garment bag. If they get some wrinkles we stick them in the bathroom while someone is taking a shower :rotfl:

We used this same thing -- sent out everything to be pressed on day 1 and saved ourselves the trouble and worry.

I don't remember the cost to press but it wasn't as much as getting the item dry cleaned.

We misered dry cleaning bags for about a month and packed EVERYTHING in it. We're talking a jam packed garment bag. 2 tuxes, 2 gown and about 6 pairs of slacks. No problem at all.

However if you DO need to iron...there is one in each laundry room :thumbsup2

Severely wrinkled--press for 1/2 price of dry cleaning

Everything else--another vote for bathroom steaming

Good luck!

That will definately be a waste. Using the dry cleaning bags/one per item and putting things in our suitcase that way we have really cut down on sending items out for pressing, but we can't avoid it all together. We don't iron though..just send it out and let disney press it for you. Very easy!
