The resort board is a-buzz with an e-mail Disney just sent out for a discounted rate (PIN code - similar to the postcards I would assume). Just wondering if any Cdns got an e-mail? I know we almost never got postacards before but was hoping that the e-mail might be a bit different - how could they know where you live based on your e-mail? Anyway - I'm really hoping to get a Disney Discount but I'm not holding my breath! :confused3

:wave2: I never personally got an email, but my TA did saying that because I booked in 2006, I get a voucher for Planet Hollywood food & merchandise $$$ not specified. That's great, but still hoping for a discount!!! :sunny:

I got an e-mail, but the e-mail account is associated with an US street address (a dummy address that is not real.) I registered on Disney.com this way to see if it was the Canadian e-mail or the Canadian Address associated with it that stoped the e-mails. I only got the e-mail on the Us street address e-mail and not on the other two Disney registered e-mail addies.

The e-mail had a pin code on the bottom.

I have recieved 2 emails with pin codes now.. both on an address that I use with my friends home address, she lives in the states. So I think we are not going to get them as Canadians.
The deal is $64 for value room in value season $84 in regular season.

Just curious mousy_in_canada.....if you were to use this pin code, would they ever do any kind of check that might reveal that you actually stay in Canada?

I phoned to see just that a little bit ago and he gave me a quote with the code and before he did, he checked my address and still gave me a quote with the code.. in fact when I was on hold waiting the system asked me to input my code .. never had that before

When you say "checked my address"....are you talking about your real address or your US address??
Are you saying that the CM didn't care what address you used?
Are you registered with disney.com with your US address?
(sorry to be so inquizative..I'm interested in knowing)

He had me confirm my mailing address and phone numbers also the names and ages of all my kids, I could have used the pin if I was able to go this year but I could not swing it. Plus it was only for Value rooms not the cabins that I need for my family of 6.

Do you think it matters if I use a friend's address in the states or can I just make one up (and use a real zip code)? Do you think they will mail stuff? I am thinking of just grabbing some address from the internet, sticking my name and e-mail on it, and hopefully getting some codes! Do you think this could be 'dangerous' or anything like that?

Don't they normally send the confirmation by mail and, if you confirmed by cc, would the account number be on there? Given the amount of identity theft that seems to be going around, I would never want any mail addressed to me going elsewhere if I can avoid it. Who knows where mail destined for a phony address will end up.

According to the CM I spoke to yesterday I would get the confirmation at my Canadian address.
I would use someone you know however, I think it is less complicated if you use a real address.
