As I booked a somewhat last minute trip about 40 days bf I leave, I had no idea I wouldn't be able to get a ressie anywhere for mid Dec. Just wondering if people are ever admitted to restaurants particularly with just 2 people, w/o a ressie? It's really putting a damper on my plans, I was really happy about going but seems ridiculous to have to booked ressies that far in advance and absolutely no dining available in any of the restaurants. Probably people holding several ressies they aren't even going to attend which is why I asked the above question. It is only 2 people, just DH and myself going for last minute b-day trip. Thanks for any info. :santa:

Last December on the same day myself and three of my friends from Orlando had lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe, without having ADR's and we only waited 5 minutes for our table.

Yes, we've often gotten into a resturaunt without a ressie. And last month at Liberty Tree Tavern, the CM at city hall told me that they were fully booked. A family in front of me at LTT, no ADR, were told that they'd have about a 25 minute wait. When the woman said that rather than wait 25 minutes, she wanted to make a reservation, then come back at that time, the hostess told her that there were no more reservations available for that day. BTW, I also got into LTT, as a solo, with no ADR, and only a 5 minute wait.

Oh that's good to know. ;) Maybe with 2 people we can squeeze in somewhere. My DH is more fussy than I am, but one of the days is my b-day and I didn't want to eat counter fast service meals on my b-day, lol. I'll try to keep positive and keep checking for openings. :santa:

We just walked up to Crystal Palace last week and were able to get a seat within 10 minutes or so. They were very busy, but they just told us earlier in the day to come back on the hour to find out if we could get a seat.
So on our trip, not really a problem as long as you are flexible with times. Our reservation was for 5 also, which is probably harder than getting one for just 2 people.
Hope it works out for you!

We are going 12/9-12/16 and I have been trying to switch some times on my current ADR's for weeks with NO luck. I can tell you the places that consistently come up as available though!:)
1. Kouzzina (comes up available for every single breakfast or dinner I try for)
2. Biergarten in Germany
3. Tokyo Dining
4. San Angel Inn
5. Whispering Canyon for breakfast or lunch ( no dinner)
6. Nine Dragons
7. The TS in Morrocco (the name totally escapes me right now:confused3)
8. Kona for breakfast
9. The restaurant upstairs in France (again the name escapes me:blush:)
I have also seen a few openings for The Plaza in MK and Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch.

Also Grand Floridian Cafe....and the food was great the last time we were there....it comes up constantly as I too am trying for others times during our time period. I really want Le Cellier and I check daily as we too also booked late. I do think with only 2 ppl you would have a better chance then us with 5. Have you used the online reservation system....when you put in what you want it gives you other places that have that time available

Good luck! Hope you get something good.

I forgot Grand Floridian Cafe! That one comes up all the time for me too! If you are trying to get LeCellier, you may want to try for lunch. We already have a lunch planned for our week but another lunch did show up today while I was obsessively checking. :) I have also seen a couple of lunch/dinner times for the Norway Princess meal.

A few years ago when DW was pregnant, we walked up to CRT and got sent right up with a seat by the window no less.
Maybe it was that she was showing, maybe it was she just asked really nicely, maybe because it was at the tail end of the lunch service. I don't know but it was really nice for her to have a sit down meal with someone waiting on her.
It doesn't hurt to ask but it most definately helps to ask nicely.
Good luck and enjoy!

Now that there is that new and useless ADR system in place, you can walk up to almost any restaurant and be seated, particularly if there are two of you.

For the best luck, go at the opening of the restaurant (for dinner that is usually five or five thirty) and ask to be seated.

We've actually gone at opening, and didn't want to be seated that early so returned two hours later and had no problem what so ever.

Skip California Grill though. That place has gone so far downhill it's disgusting. :(

Another place that may be easier to get into and in my opinion a nice little secret is the Captains Grille at the YC. :thumbsup2

We've had great luck getting to places when they just open and waiting patiently. It's normally just the two of us and we've managed to squeeze into a few popular places.

With free dining it might be harder but it might be worth a try too.

This past Thursday we were able to get into San Angel in in MExico with a 10 min wait (walk up).

The 1st week in November, the 3 of us decided to try and get into Coral Reef for lunch. It was shortly after it opened. Walked up and were seated within 15-20 minutes. Just go at very beginning or very end of the meal time and worst case is you have to try somewhere else.

Good Luck! :wizard:

We were there in Sept with free dining and had very little issues with no adrs or changing them.
1st was 50's PTC had 5pm adr but wasn't feeling well so stopped by about 2pm and asked if we could eat now -waited about 5 mins and went right in
2nd was HDDR headed there early, left tickets for HDDR in room figured mom and son could hang out at FW while I went back for tickets, decided I would check and see if there was anything available at the 5pm show instead of 7 - we got there at like 4:50 and was seated and eating at 5pm - few tables were still open
and finally had no adrs for last night was at MK - went online night before and asked for a recommendation - Tony's - we got there about 4:30 or 5 and walked right in for dinner and was DELICIOUS.

I am sure it helped that we went at off times but was wonderful!
