Got a call last night from an unidentifiable phone # from someone who wanted to know if we were interested in buying BLT "b4 the price increase". She had a very thick Hispanic accent and knew our guides name (he's also Hispanic), but not much else. Didn't know we already owned there. She said our guide could email us the info. At first I thought it was a scam, but then thought the guide could be paying someone or having a family member call everyone for him. Anyone else get this call?

DVD is calling members trying to sell BLT. I got a call last week.

I don't think BLT is selling as well as they would like. This is the first time I've heard of them calling members to buy a resort.

Guides have always called their hot prospects. This time they are using a ASA to pre-screen the contacts before being transfered to a Guide.

I received these calls also, about once every week. But I don't answer if I don't recognize the phone number. They would leave a message "just calling you in regards to changes to your DVC membership". I thought this was odd because I assumed that if there were changes I would have gotten something in the mail. So I'm assuming now that they were just sales calls.

We got a call this week. It sounded like a telemarketer. When they asked if I was was home, I said no. They left a number and stated it was about Bay Lake Towers. I never called back.

Who is ASA? Definitely sounded like a pre screening call. Thought it was unprofessional because you couldn't id who was calling and they were very uninformed.

Well the price increase to $130 a point will have an interesting impact... I do agree, i think DVC is using a telemarketing agency and if you show any interest they pass the call off to your actual guide or another guide that can help you. We got the call a couple weeks ago. If anybody is interested the current podcast sale <edit beyond this...> here is a thread that already discussing it.... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2598048

I got the call this morning. They said they were only informing BLT owner's of a price increase going into effect on 12/1. They said they have to call owner's to let them know of the price increase because it is such a large jump at $10 per point. They also said it was to find out if anyone was thinking of adding on.

I got the call yesterday. An ASA first then she connected me to my guide. He said they were calling because they didn't have time to send out mailings.

We got the call -- it was a bit vague, saying it was about our membership. DH and I did a bit of wondering just what was up ... did we owe money? Was our account hacked.

So the next day I made a priority to call them back, and was disappointed to say the least to learn it was a sales call. The guide I got was nice enough about it, but I was a bit annoyed. He said they were calling everyone instead of mailing "because it's cheaper".

Email's even cheaper and less intrusive.

I got a call and told them I wasn't interested in adding on points at BLT. It was nice to hear that it's going up to $130/pt which makes our purchase at $96/pt that much sweeter.

Received a call from 888-206-8010 from a Scott Kaufman, left a message about changes regarding our membership. I called member services instead just to make sure everything was normal with my membership. They said they understood my concern and the gentleman I spoke with, Curtis, said he could not find a Scott Kaufman in the system. I was also told that if Disney was trying to contact me, they would only use their first name. Hope this info helps anybody that may have received a similar call.

Hey I got the call. It is definitely dvc, no scam or anything. They had left a message and I called back and she looked up my guide based on my phone #. Said that points at BLT are selling out and the price is going up so they wanted to give BLT owners a head's up. Also gave the url for a "webinar" at http://www.dvconlineshow.com/ supposed to be some web thing this weekend.

That is what happened to me about a week or two ago. It was another person at first and then I was transferred to my guide. He wanted to offer me BLT at the lower price before the increase. Same story that everyone else has.

Scott is a DVC sales guide in FL. I'm 100000000% positive that he exists and indeed works for Disney. Who is your guide? Is it possible that they retired and Scott took over your account?
