Anyone get a great price on a summer cruise lately?

It seems when teachers and kids can go, the prices are outrageous. Any great deals out there for a 7 day anywhere cruise? (Preferably not Carnival) and we would need two cabins for 7 people. I'm open to destinations, but would save on airfare to travel out of Boston, nyc, or NJ.

I'm pretty sure that summer and great price in the same sentence is an oxymoron, lol. We're in the same boat with kids in school though. The best price we have found is the Bahamas - Florida cruise on NCL out of NYC. I would prefer Bermuda but it is more expensive. I know you said not Carnival, but we took a great 8-day cruise out of NYC to the Bahamas and St. Thomas back in 2007. I think they still offer a similar itinerary but it is a different ship.

Good luck. We adore cruising and cannot wait til the last child is away at college so we can cruise during the "cheap" months and at the last minute for best deals!

The least expensive times during the summer will be the last two weeks of August, but keep in mind this is hurricane season. We've cruised during this time several times, and only once were affected by a hurricane and the captain got us out of the way pretty quickly.

We've found its actually less expensive to cruise out of Florida, even with airfare.

we went on a cruise in 2011 --RCCL out of NJ - we booked about a year or so early...we got an inside cabin for 999.00 each! it was a 12 night cruise - didn't realize how good a price that was till i looed for this summer - that same cruise was about 1500 each - it went to the Bermuda, st. Thomas, St. Martin and San Juan!

This summer we are cruising again - going on Carnival out of NYC - 8 nights about 1000 each but we got an outside room!

Our cousins are going for a 14 day cruise in Feb. for about 799 each on NCL - thats GREAT price
