Ok this whole multiple indulgement, FB and other threads.... I was definitely enthralled with the FB posts, but more likely to post on the DISboards stuff! I love your large family gatherings! We never have more than four when we get together. If we REALLY splurged and my sister with her kids flew down we would have as many as eight and if Fran and I could make it up to their hour with the parents we would be in double digits. Maybe!

The food porn sounds amazing, but more so just the fact that you have such a family. I know you complain about it, but what I would give to have some folks to complain with! As it is we try to recruit friends which is even hard!

I'm so glad most of my family doesn't speak to each other. That kind of avoids the reunion thing.

In the case of my family, we all speak to each other.....but no one listens.

The veggie pizza would be right up my alley. My DH probably feels the same way about our family events too.

I loved the vegie pizza and the meat pizza the best.

I think I should explain.

I do love the family gatherings but it comes at a price.
When we all get together, everyone speaks at the same time. My family consists of fairly opinionated people (I wasn't kidding when I say I'm the shy, retiring type....) and everyone is ALWAYS right.
No one listens at the large family gatherings; and it's hard to have a decent conversation with anyone because someone else always butts in and interrupts.

I do like conversations with people and like to think that the other person is listening to me; which isn't something that happens at my family gatherings.

I think one of the reasons why the 2D thing works so well for me is because no one interrupts and I get to finish whole sentences FIRST......before I get misunderstood.

I have a HUGE family as well (my mom's side totals about 20 people, my dad's side of the family is close to 80 now and my biological mom's side of the family is about 30) so I know what you mean.

I love my family more than anything and I love when we get together but it's hard to really converse with anyone. I usually just end up sitting on the sidelines until someone asks me a question.

That used to be me when I was a lot younger. These days, I'm much more comfortable in my own skin and am more than happy to share my opinions.....even if they can be a little wr....wr.....wr........not politically correct.

Fireworks in August




Another visit to the Docklands on a Wintry Friday night and another collection of sparkly shots in the can. I used a wider angle lens this time. Hope you like this set!


As always, there was the pre-entertainment. I quite like them.
