Anyone Game? It’s my Sep 2013 Blog! I'm home; with a TR link in #1189, 10/14

I have finally caught up and what can I say but....Wow! White Night looked absolutely amazing. Loved Moomba fireworks and the FLower and Garden show had outstanding arrangements. I would love to visit your side of the world.

You are going to have a fantastic vacation. :woohoo:

I made the mistake of viewing your food pics before breakfast. I need to go find something to eat. :upsidedow

Thanks SadieDog! Glad to see you here. Hope you found something yummy to eat for breakfast. :thumbsup2

Plans as they stand for September 30 – October 6; Walt Disney World

Where are we going?

Nowhere! We will be at Walt Disney World. I plan to be fully immersed in the Disney Magic for this time. We may decide to go shopping during this time but that will depend on how we feel on the day.

Where are we staying?

Our stay is at Beach Club Villa for the duration.

Because of the way we’ve booked the accommodation, I am anticipating that we will need to change rooms on the 2nd October. That’s okay with me; and I’ve planned to be at Epcot for this day. The benefit of being in the Epcot resort area is that we can walk back to the resort, change rooms and not feel like we’ve wasted too much time.

It will mean packing up or not fully unpacking all our bags. I figure that I can pack 3 days’ worth of clothes for DH, DS and myself in one bag. The rest of our clothes can stay in the other bag and we only have one suitcase to pack/unpack.

What are we doing?

I’ve bought 7 day Park Hopper with Water Park Fun and More tickets for us. This ticket will allow us 7 days entry to the main Disney parks and 7 entries to the ‘minor’ Disney parks. I did debate purchasing a 6 day ticket; but in the end, I figured that for the extra dollars, I would have complete flexibility over park entry for the 7 days that we were there.

I plan on being at Magic Kingdom for 2 days, Epcot 2 days, Animal Kingdom 1 day, Hollywood Studios for 1 day and most likely Blizzard Beach for 1 day. If we have time, I’d like to take DS to Disney Quest or ESPN Zone.

I haven’t worked out if we will go to the mini golf place; it is highly unlikely.
One thing that we’d like to do is take DS to MNSSHP. I think he’d like to experience Trick or Treating Disney-style. Assuming the dates work out the way I expect, we’ll be going to the party on the last night (Sunday night) that we’re at the World.

I am likely to do a day-by-day accounting of what our possible days would look like; but we’ve got plenty of time left in this countdown to go through that in the next 5 months.

Your plans sound great and yay to the Beach Club. I am hoping to stay there or the Poly on the trip after this upcoming one. Seeing the dates you settled on makes me sad. Crap shares his birthday with Epcot, which also happens to be his favorite park. Being in Epcot on his birthday this year would have been awesome. Then, I could have joined in on the meet too. Bummer.

Sounds like you trip planning is fair steaming along PIO :thumbsup2. Mine is all a little vague at the moment. Accomodation has been booked for many many months, but I haven't worked out exactly what we are going to do and see yet !

Sounds like great plans! BC will be so convenient for popping in to F&W.

Hi guys-epecially Franandaj, I'm the unchecked in Disser from the latest Melb dismeet-as always getting sidetracked away from the boards for a few days. It was a great meet-love meeting people in 3D and getting together with kindred souls over scrumptious food-and at least I will be in a pic even if I dislike pics - looking at you Minniemum!!

The plans look great PIO and I think our next WDW visit will have to be nearer Epcot as it was one of our faves. I also would really like to see MNSSHP-your DS would have a ball, espy as its not celebrated much here. I also would probably plan to break my time up between parks as you are thinking-as a plan anyway! Our Xmas visit we did much that except instead of a day at a water park we had a day sleeping in, visiting some of the other hotels to check them out and their Xmas deco's and I think that was the day we spent the night at MVMCP.

Just checking in to say I am enjoying the report and love seeing your pictures!

Bummer that we couldn't coordinate dates.

Hope you get BC or Poly for your trip.

WDW plans are looking great PIO :thumbsup2

Thanks Zanzibar.

There's still plenty of time to sort out tours. Once you have accommodation sorted, the rest will work itself out. :goodvibes

I am counting on it!

I'm glad you checked in again. I wasn't sure about posting the picture of us in the PTR and originally left it out.

We'll see how the plan works out. But based on how we did the parks in 2010, heading back to enjoy the resort mid-afternoon was a great plan and worked out great for DH and DS. I'm happy to go with the flow this time round as we may not be as anxious to get on all the rides.

Plans as they stand for October 7 – October 8; The Dark Side

Where are we going?

This part of the trip is still to be confirmed; but I’m planning on being in the Dark Side – Universal Studios.

What are we doing?

Yes, I will be having a repeat Mickey cheat with Harry. It will be my second time. No. one. tell. Mickey!

Where are we staying?

For Front of Line privileges, I plan to stay on-site. The question is….which hotel? I have spent the last 6 months trying to decide between Portofino, Hard Rock and Royal Pacific. This week, it’s RPR…but I don’t know.
HELP!! Which one is your favourite?

Some how I missed the update with MNSSHP. Probably all that sitting around eating bon bons that I've ben doing!

We've akways stayed at the RPH, because it is slightly cheaper, slightly closer, but mostly because I've wanted to eat at Emeril's both times we've stayed. Convenient food choices rank high on my list!

UMM, I'm going to tell Mickey you're cheating on him, jk.

Thanks for the photo! I am like Jenny (if she will verify) I want to see you all and faces! I love people! and love to see the whole people part! I recognize Zanzibar from her TR but enjoy putting names to faces especially when they post on my TR! I love new 2D friends because who knows if they might become 3D friends!. When I first commented on your TR back in 2010 I had no idea what great friends we would become!

On my way to check it out :goodvibes

Sorry can't help you on this one....I am NOT a cheater! :lmao:

I cannot wait until we finally go to Universal Orlando. Crap is staying at a Hard Rock in San Diego right now, and the room is gorgeous. That would be my vote, although people who have actually been will be more knowledgable. Excited to read about the trip and which hotel you end up picking.

Emeril's is why RPH is on my list!

Dibber dobber!

If NO one tells Mickey, he'll never ever really know.

(You reading this, ACDSNY!!!!???)

The people in the know reckon you can't go wrong with any of the 3! :headache:

As a person who has never even been to Orlando, I don't feel like I have a lot to contribute to this part of the PTR :rotfl:

However, just looking through the website, if money was no object, I would go with Portofino :thumbsup2

I know. That was the place I was looking at initially. Problem is that it seems to have the least favourable reviews! :(

Is that just because it's expensive though? Sometimes expensive places get more bad reviews because people go in with ridiculously high expectations. I often find it amusing reading hotel reviews :rotfl:

Apparently the staff there are less caring than at the other two hotels. Price wise, it comes in between Hard Rock (most expensive) and Royal Pacific (least).
