Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

What an inspiring tagline about life ! I am going to make a sign for our home as a constant reminder of that.

You know I have been fawning over your pictures for years but these are the BEST I have ever seen of anything at WDW.

Now here is the funny thing, had you and I been more aware, I was to your left at this time. :lmao: The shots I got of the Headless Horseman that I have shared before was right before they exited through the gate to the backstage area. I was right near the barbershop ! Oh the planning we will do for next time :)

I had a hunch that you, DH and DS would ride Splash Mountain that night. That was a very nice picture that night.

I can understand what you were thinking of leaving the tripod in the locker instead of carrying it around the park. I have learned over time with the same thing and thought about leaving the tripod in the locker or carrying a bag with me while I am enjoying my time at the parks at night. You inspired me to get a bag that can carry the tripod (where you own a Lowpro Pro Runner 200) so I won't have to carry another bag with me at night. Even though it does add extra weight to my back but it was well worth it of not carry another bag and it will be ready if I need to get it out quickly.

You got a very nice spot on Main Street for Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween parade. It is always nice to see the parade from MS as well with Cinderella Castle in the background.

The photos are amazing. Your really managed to snag the perfect spot for the parade.

Corinna

I love taking the ferry only for the photo opportunities.
That stinks about the tickets.
Love POTC. 5 minutes, not bad. Nice pics.
Love eating outside at Tony’s.
Nice pics on BTMRR.
Loved the HM pics.
Very nice pics of the parade.

Great photos! I love that parade! Love the spade sparks on the floor! Oh my last year the headless horseman nearly rang true he fell off his horse!

Looks like you had a great time from the perfect vista :-)

Yes it was 2012 and the horse fell too Horrifying They're ok but extremely cautious about when the horse will appear ( drizzle rain ) and the run has been slowed down really to a fast walk thank God. I'm glad I wasn't there that night, I would have been a basket case.

I have the pleasure of knowing many of the CMs that take care of the horses for years, a few live near me. They take excellent care of our Equine friends :goodvibes

I wondered if this would be an issue with (what I presume to be a shod) horse cantering down a paved road which would likely be wet at that time of year.

Glad to know that they take steps to ensure the horse's safety.

Something else they could try would be the 'barefoot' shoes with grippy soles, much like sneakers for horses :rotfl: I assume you have them in the US. Over here they use them for police horses to avoid any accidents with them slipping over on roads etc.

You seriously grabbed the BEST spot for the parade! Those are some fantastic photos, even though you wished you had your other lens. They turned out perfect!

A little OT here, but I made your Fried Rice a few days ago with the substitute Kecap Manis

I subbed peas and green onion for the green beans and left everything else the same and it was DELICIOUS! DH was obsessed with the sauce and ended up drizzling about 1/3 cup over his portion! Thanks again for the fantastic recipe and one day i'll buy the 'real' thing, but for now, this will be in our regular meal rotation:)

Well my horse is " barefoot " no horse shoes, I know what you are talking about though. I don't know if they ever considered them. Considering how many times the horse(s) have run for the party over the years it really was a fluke. I know that Main Street ( or even our street ) can even get kind of slick with the humidity we get here. I guess they just determined no more gallop/cantor and just go with the sort of fast walk. Non-horse people or people new to the MNSSHP would be hard pressed to really notice the speed.

This particular horse is gorgeous and PIO got great shots as usual :goodvibes

My question for you was going to be if you caught the first parade, but if I'd just read the subtitle, my answer was obvious. Now I know why you didn't stick around and watch the parade with the rest of us. That was a prime spot for pictures that you scored! Nice job!

Great pics PIO. You had a perfect spot. The next time I get to this party I have that spot in mind. Also the 50 1.8 is a great lens. I went wider and got the 35 1.8 for evening pics without using a flash. I love the lens.

Thanks. I am hankering after a 35 mm lens right now. But I'm seriously tempted by the Sigma 18 - 35 f/1.8.

You couldn't have asked for a better spot for the parade pictures with the castle in the background.:thumbsup2

It really was a great spot to view the parade.

Yes, I'll be dressing up for Dapper Day :thumbsup2 It's a different type of dressing up, but it'll have to do :rotfl:

I have no problems doing BTM in real life, but I do have a problem with those sorts of photos in general. On a related topic, I have found that I have a very small problem with the lift in my new work building :rotfl: Lucky it's only a few seconds at a time!

I'm glad your story had a happy ending :goodvibes You got some great photos of the parade :thumbsup2 Is it weird that I think the headless horseman doesn't look scary because his horse has beautiful kind eyes? :rotfl2:

That headless horseman is awesome!

Hope you're getting used to the lift in the new work building.

Lovely parade pics! That spot was perfect!:thumbsup2

Thanks. :goodvibes

I realised how close we would have been when I saw your pictures of the headless horseman. Next time!

Any excuse to get wet. :rotfl:

It was a great spot to see a night time parade.

Thanks Corinna. I definitely got lucky with that spot.

I've seen and read articles talking about the horseman falling off the horse. That would be scary to experience and see.

I love the spade sparks on the floor as well. But for some reason, the sparks on the floor of Main Street weren't as plentiful as round Frontierland side.

That would be awesome to know the horse minder CMs. Do they have horses themselves?

OOH! Nice looking fried rice. Glad the kecap manis worked out for you and that DH liked it.

Thanks for the update!

I was sorry that I left the tripod behind because it meant that I needed to run and get it rather than spend time with you all. Still....I really liked the spot I got and the pictures that I managed to take of this parade.

:wave2: Hi Pio Not to further hijack the thread with horse talk but since you asked, yes quite a few of the Ft Wilderness CMs own their own horses. Maxine was going to board at one of their homes if we hadn't found this house, we are blessed with land so that wasn't necessary.

Hijack by horse talk? :scratchin: Besides.....Is there such a thing as Hijack on a chatroom forum? :confused3

:rotfl:

(Glad you had an alternative planned for Maxine!).
