Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

Interesting to hear that all of you were in different locations during the Castle show and HalloWishes fireworks. I really enjoyed your pictures from both the castle show, HalloWishes and the Villain stage show. The firework trail shots were very nice and clear. I can't believe that I didn't see be Villain show in 2012 and now I regret not seeing it. If I ever go back during MNSSHP, I will have to see it.

Very nice update.

It was to be my story of the night. Sadly, I seemed to have spent a lot of time away from the main Dissers group all night. :sad2:

Thanks Bret. I really liked my pictures from this night.
Hope you get round to catching the Villains soon.

Oooooh! What beautiful pics!

:goodvibes

I really wanted to see that villains show. Despite all my planning, that and a couple other things I wanted did not quite the way I planned it. You got excellent pictures.

Thanks Kim. You'll have to plan a re-do. ::yes::

Thanks PIO. I never did get to finish emailing those from that night. There was just to much going on in my life at that time. I know that I shot the castle show with my tripod this night. I am not sure if I was just pressing the button or using the wireless trigger. I was in Shutter priority. Most I think were at 1/80. I can to ISO 6400 with really no problem.

Absolutely fantastic pictures, Ed. I really liked what I saw on your camera that night and these ones turned out bright and beautiful!

This reminds me of my avatar pic! Only about 1000 times better :rotfl2:

Although you didn't have the right setup for the castle projections, you got some great photos there. And your fireworks photos turned out spectacularly :thumbsup2

What is with Frollo being your DS's favourite villain? :confused3 I agree about Dr Facilier though. I think he's a great villain.

DS said that despite being a Villain, he thought Frollo was not that bad compared to the other Villains. He did, afterall, take in Quasi and let him stay in the tower and fed him and everything. Hence why he like Frollo best.

I didn't have the heart to talk to him about emotional torture. :sad1:

Great pictures!

Thanks! Glad you're still checking in from time to time.

It does look like your Avatar !! and yeah what's up with Frollo ? Great Picture of the two of them RARE Not what I expected to hear...kind of cool to be different though, way to go PIO's DS..:thumbsup2.I would also just like to know why him ??

Great Pictures Ed, I LOVE the fact that Walt & Mickey are watching too, especially with the last one, in front of the crowd picture...touching to me :goodvibes..like " See what we did ? "

I like that picture of DS and Frollo. DS rarely smiles in photos when he's deliberately posing for a shot (it's a thing he has) and this was one of those rare pictures.

The photos are all beautiful even if the photos of the castle projection show have not come out as bright as you would have liked.

Corinna

Thanks Corinna.

I am loving all the pictures from the party. I have not been to one and the special parade and fireworks are too cool.

I would love to try a Christmas at WDW to compare. But I do like the Halloween period at WDW.

What great pictures of all the castle shows, fireworks and other such events, PIO and Ed!

I can't wait to try again on some of those shots and try them with my camera and tripod!

I can't wait to see those shots! :thumbsup2

Everyone's photos are amazing! The Halloween Party is my favorite.

Jill in CO

Glad you liked them, Jill.

Oh my what candy eye party! Thank you for photos PIO and sundial :-) truly amazing. Cool re seeing the Villians but agree Villians don't dance they are just mean!

:thumbsup2

The fireworks are amazing! Not sure if it's the same as DLR, but the music for that show is spectacular. Just listened to it the other day.

Thanks for the beautiful photos PIO and SunDial!

Sometime I just sneak in for a quick peak. ;)

Ooh! I love a good sneak peak every now and again myself. (and backing out slowly and quietly) :lmao:

Thanks. I'll have to find out if the music is the same or not.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures that SunDial shared as well.

DisMeet Evidence

I keep forgetting to check my stash of Photopass pictures and including them in the right chronological order!

We did have evidence of the DisMeet for this night; minus luvchefmic.
Whilst we were still in the Haunted Mansion area and before I dashed off to collect my tripod, we lined up for one special magic shot.

And I did seriously think about not sharing this picture. You can see clear down my tonsils in this shot! Aside from that personal note, everyone else looks great!

So, this DisMeet really did happen.

DS' View of the Second Parade

I had always intended on heading back to join the rest of the Dissers after the Villains show to enjoy the second show with them.

I hadn't counted on my DS raining on that party!

On the way back, he spotted a gap in the crowd where he could get a position right up the front. He immediately grabbed it and there was no budging him from that spot. Pleas, bargains, bribes and threats all fell on deaf ears. Even telling him that he would have as good a spot back with the others was to no avail.

He liked where he was. In hindsight, I should have gone to join the others and left him there; but I figured an adult needed to stay with him with the crowds at the hub. All in all, we were a quarter of a circle away from the others. It might as well have been a universe apart.

For the record, I don't think that these pictures are bad (they are decent enough) but they are not a patch on the ones I got from the first parade. I'll also admit that I spent more time watching the second parade than taking pictures. Afterall, I knew I already had captured enough pictures from the first parade. In any event, here are the set of images that I did take from where DS had decided to watch the parade from.

I missed capturing the Headless Horseman on this second parade. A CM stood directly in my path and there was no way I was getting a shot of any description.

The main parade.

The Tweedles.

Guess who?

The Fab 4.

I don't know why Donald and Daisy are dressed in those costumes. They could do so much better with their outfits to fit in with the spooky theme!

The 100 Acre Wood crew.

Peter Pan.

One Villain that I quite like.

There are pirates here.

From one world into another pirate world.

The Grave Diggers.

Making sparks fly.

There's just something so spooky about this float.

I've always wondered how much effort it is to make dresses that look like rags.

Glow in the dark!

Harvest Hoe-Down time.

Villain time.

I've got Cruella in my sights. I need a decent shot of her. It wasn't to be on this trip. Next time.

DS' favourite villain.

It's the Big Bad Wolf!

Goofy's peddling the Candy.

And The End.

What Everyone Did Next

By the time the second parade was over and I caught up with the rest, Fran and Alison had decided to call it a night. I said my goodbyes to them at this point in time. We were all going our separate ways the next day and starting to make our way home. It had been fantastic to spend as much time as I got with them.

DS and DH wanted to go collect candy and grab some rides. I handed them a couple of the pink slips but it turned out that most of the crowd cleared and they did get on Space Mountain without any issue. DH forgot to claim the Photopass picture.

These were stolen from DH's camera. He didn't capture very many of the night but they did go get some candy as well.

I didn't grab the full bags but this was what was left of the candy by the time we got home to Melbourne.

I also found this one in the photopass account when I got home.

I was informed that they left shortly taking that Photopass picture.

Me and SunDial?

Well......we certainly maximised whatever time we had left at MK.

I really enjoy this parade and your photos! Loving the grave diggers sparks! Shame your visit is coming to an end :-(
Agreed what are those Duck outfits all about lol. Jo says it's like they had a quick look in the costume warehouse and just grabbed the first items they found lol.. You can imagine the parade manager saying 'omg what are you wearing .. Well it's too late now let's hope everybody is just distracted by the fact you wear nothing from the waist down which is spooky enough' ...

The PhotoPass pictures with everyone are so neat especially the last one.

You got a great spot for the second parade that night and they were all nice.

What a shame that you did not get to join the others for the second parade. I love the group Photopass photos.

Corinna

Great parade pics and nice candy loot. I remember my kids eating candy for days after the party. Even 5 days after, they had candy to take home. :thumbsup2

Cute Photopass pic of your fellas. :goodvibes

Oh i'm so glad you decided to share the second PP picture. :rotfl:it's perfect!

Great parade photos.

Wow those are big candy bins. Do you know if they have to refill them during the party?

Wow, you really got some good parade shots. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I like this parade OK. I am generally not a big parade fan. The only two parades I loved at Disney were Spectromagic and Jammin' Jungle, and now they are both gone. :(

I do like Hallowishes a lot, but not as much as Wishes. They used to run Hallowishes on non-Halloween party nights in late October, but I don't think they do that anymore. (Maybe decided that since people were pay $70 a pop to see it, they shouldn't give it away for free.:rotfl2:) I guess I'll find out shortly.

Very impressed you are still writing your TR almost a year after your trip! When this is finished, what will you do with your free time? :goodvibes

Gorgeous set of pics and I can't wait to see to visit MNSSHP myself. I have a reasonably good pic (for me) of Cruella taken I think in Main St in Paris DL -daytime pic. I see there is a lot of commonality between the castle projections for this halloween party and Paris Celebrate show (some exactly the same). Since we LOVED that show it makes me even more excited to think we will be able to see MK version. Glad you had a good night despite being separated from the Disers.

What I'm most interested in is the pictures that you and SunDial got after everyone left the parks, because we were exhausted. Now with what I know and am interested in, I would have planned to stay late, and hoped that Fran could have lasted since she can't really go home without me.

I remember you saying that was your favourite part of this parade. So, when it came to this second parade, I made sure I put one in for you. :thumbsup2

I didn't mind the spot DS picked for the second parade.
The others were nearly directly opposite the castle. It might have been a better spot to be at.

What a shame that you did not get to join the others for the second parade. I love the group Photopass photos.

Corinna

Yes. It was one of the things I would have done differently if I could have gone back in time. Still, it was a fun night.

We did have to dump a bit of the candy before flying home. They were heavy....so we culled some of it before heading home. It was shame; but it worked out for the best in the end.

I don't think they refill them. I suspect they have spare candy bins filled up before the party and they will just roll them out and replace the empty ones. I can't say that I've seen them do that in the party's I've attended. But then, I don't stand around the candy bins all night. ;)

:scratchin I'm currently writing 2 TRs. This one and the one on the Aussie Boards for my trip to the Blue Mountains and Sydney. Don't ask about my free time. :faint:

When I'm finished this one, the convention is to start another TR. :lmao:
I might or might not have a resurrected Mad Dash PTR on the go as well....and I might or might not be at SoCal when you're doing your adult trip. :rolleyes1

I think Disney has gotten into the castle projections across the various parks. Can't wait to see what you think of the MK version. Not long now. :thumbsup2

I need to get that set of pictures together and post them.

Love the meet pic! How did I miss it???

You saw it eventually. :thumbsup2

Why oh why is there a Harvest Hoedown float? I like that they're including old characters and I get that Fall corresponds to Halloween but I really don't understand cowboys dancing..... Maybe it fits while you're there and in the middle of it.

Love the PP pics! All of them :)
