Anyone from the UK applying for ICP 2011?

Hi!!

Yes, I plan to apply for ICP for summer 2011 too.

When at WDW last summer, I bumped into somebody I knew who was working at AK on the ICP. I didnt know about it prior to then, so I looked it up when I returned home. I planned to have applied for this summer, but time went so quick with exams and stuff this year, and before I knew it, it was June.

So yeah, here's to 2011!

Is it yummy jobs you apply through?

Hi, yes it is Yummy jobs. Just off to get my CV up to date. What role are you planning to apply for?

Not too sure, I haven't really thought about that yet. To be honest, I think I'd be happy doing most things.

Do you have something in mind?

When does the application process open?

I am a qualified lifeguard but like you I would be happy with anything:)
Just keeping my eye on the Yummy Jobs website for dates.

Hi!

The International College Program (ICP) is a chance for students who do not live in America to work at WDW for a length of time.

This is what the Disney website says:
"The Disney International Programs offer select candidates from around the globe a magical opportunity to travel to the United States, learn skills from Disney leaders, meet people from around the world, and take part in a life-changing experience they just can't get anywhere else"

There are 2 programs: the first is the ICP that we are talking about where you generally work at WDW during the summer break, and the second is the Cultural Representative Program where you work in the themed pavillions of Epcot, and is for 12 months.

If you want to apply for either (from the UK), then you need to apply through "yummy jobs". Application for 2011 hasn't opened yet.

Check out the international program website: https://www.disneyinternationalprograms.com/

Hope that's everything you needed to know ;)

Thanks BethEJo you have replied to a lot of my comments on other threads too haha!

I'm hoping to apply for this for the Summer next year. I was speaking to some of the CM's in the UK pavillion last summer, and they told me about yummyjobs.

Fingers crossed :)

I'm from Canada and plan to apply to the 2011 ICP program. I was going to this year but life gets busy and things get lost in the shuffle. This year I won't let that happen.
Someone definitaly post when the apps are up on Yummy Jobs as thats what us Canadians use too.

Heyyyy! Im going to apply for summer 2011 :)

I really wish I was out there now, but fingers crossed we'll all be out there next year :) I get excited just thinking about it! Anyone know anything about the interview process?! Are there a lot of stages to go through?

Hey - and yeah, like you said, fingers crossed for us all :)

Somebody I knew did the ICP last year and worked on EE for 2 mo. I asked her a couple of questions about the whole shabang.

My friend said to start, when you apply through yummy jobs you write a bit about yourself, and why you want to work at WDW etc etc. She then said that if they like the sound of you they'll give you a telephone interview.
If you get through that, she said that you then go on to have a face to face interview which are held in a number of places throoughout the UK I believe.

Something which my friend added was that you get interviewed in pairs - or at least she was anyway. Apparently, according to her, the interviews were fine. She said that you didnt have to be a "Disney nut" (her words - but we all of course are:)) - if you are pleasant person with a good attitude then you'll be fine.

Finally she said that they let you know pretty sooon after the interview if you've made it on to the program and then you go ahead and sort visas out etc.

And then you work in WDW for 2 months!!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Hope that helps :)

Thanks thats a great help!! :) It's good to know what to expect! Im at uni in Liverpool and I know they came there to do some interviews last year, so hopefully they'll come again this year so I dont have to travel too far :)

There's a law internship programme at my Uni for working in the states which I'm planning to apply for this year, but if nothing comes of that then I think I'll apply for the ICP. I definatley want to work for Mickey at some point though!
