Anyone from the Sarasota area?

I am taking ddfor a trippie for her 14th bday. I would like to take her to the beach for a couple of nights before we head to WDW. We both decided on Siesta Key. Can anyone from this area recommend a nice place on the beach (not outrageously priced) and a few good restaurants? Presently we are looking at Tropical Shores but some suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I have some other questions also

I haven't been there in years, so I can't really recommend a place to stay or a restaurant. I did want to tell you however, that Siesta Key has a gorgeous beach! I went there every spring break for about 12 years. My best friend's aunt owns a house on the canal and we always had a wonderful time.

My best advice is to go on tripadvisor.com and do a search there for Sarasota/Siesta Key. They have lots of great info for travelers. Good luck!

As far as reataurants, try to look up a place called "Turtles". It's somewhere near Turtle Beach which isn't far from Siesta Key. I had some family members eat at Turtles Restaurant back in '03 and kept saying how good it was.
