I would love to plan maybe a Friday evening pre-planning dinner at a restaurant in the London area, soemtime in August. Those of us who can attend can discuss future get togethers and maybe even a "group trip" in the future ??? Is anybody interested in Fri August 15th ?? If it going to be a discussion then I will leave my kids at home or we can just make it a family event and include the whole gang.
Anyone up for the challenge ??????????? ;) I am looking forward to meeting everyone !!!

Sounds like a great idea but I work evenings and the wife and kids are away most of Aug so unless it is during a wee that they are home our family is out.

Aug 15th is the only Friday in our house that works.

Hi there. Another one from London ... just haven't been on the boards very much lately. I think the last official DIS meet we had was at the park in June 2004. I've been to a couple at Tiger Jack's before that. And we had some of our friends come from the GTA area as well as Woodstock.

I have the first week of August off, DH doesn't, so the kids and I are just hanging out in "Puerta Backyarda" - LOL. Maybe a Splash pad meet somewhere that week? My DD is 11 and my DS is 8.

Sadly, no upcoming trips planned for us. But would love to live vicariously through everyone else.

Hi Maryliz! Don't know if you remember me but I was at one of the Tiger Jack's meets. How are you?

I would love to meet up with everyone too! I'm widowed, so have been on a few solo trips to WDW in the last few years. I am going again this Oct with my daughter and her husband. I was on my very first cruise in May, with DCL of course :goodvibes I did the 15 night WB Panama Canal cruise. It was wonderful! I work in retail, so I'll have to wait until everyone decides on a date to know whether I'll be able to join in.

Hello fellow Londoners [and nearby-ers ]! :wave2: I am also in London, moved here almost two years ago. We will be in WDW, staying off-site, Sept. 30-Oct. 12. I'm up for get-togethers but getting my dh to participate would be a challenge...he's not the Disney fanatic I am, nor is he very sociable! :sad2:

Pugmom25...I LOVE pugs! Our's died 2 1/2 years ago and with moves and trips we won't be getting another one for a while. :sad1:

Hello Fellow Londoners!

You never know the networks one may find out here on the net! :)

We are going on our first family vacation with our three boys (9, 4 and almost 2) from Aug 14 - 21 next month (!). We are also going with our best friends and their two daughters (5 and 3) so that I can still do princessy things. princess:

Needless to say, we're very excited, but I am getting a wee bit nervous as I want everyone to have a great trip. It seems to me that it's a fine line between planning sufficiently and overplanning one's trip. Any advice?

Glad to find you all out here on the WWW!

Dawn-Marie, my biggest bit of advice is to listen to the children. When they are tired, it is time for a rest-even if it is a long, air-conditioned ride (Universe of Energy, Hall of Presidents, Great Movie Ride). A stop for a cold drink or ice cream can do wonders for little people, too-especially if they don't get that regularly.

They may want to watch the parades. I remember the first trip with my oldest 3-3, 4, and 5-when I was determined that we do the rides during the parades. By "mistake", DH made us watch the parade (and I was  ), but that is what the kids wanted to do. And it was wonderful! :goodvibes: Hopefully, you've booked a character meal so that you can do the character meets without waiting in line. Be sure to have an autograph book (or more).

Now, the best bit of advice. Relax and enjoy. The true magic of Disney is being with your family! Have fun. DD(14) and I are at POP from the 12th-19th. That is only 23 Days 18 Hrs 19 Mins 16 Secs away!!!

Hi Kathe, I remember you both here and at our Crystal Palace character breakfast with Janet, years ago. It has been a while since Tiger Jack's hasn't it! I just booked Oct 6 - 14 on this past Thursday's Detroit to Orlando DING, when are you going in Oct?

My kids are in university and college and DH is not a Disney fanatic so it would probably be just me if I am available. Been dealing with my mother and her house in Niagara after my father passed away in April, so I'm not sure what's happening that far ahead, at the moment.

I'll keep a watch to see what date everyone agrees on!

Thanks, Debbie for your kind response. We do have ADR's at CRT, Chef Mickey's, Coral Reef, and a Grand Gathering for dinner at AK. I think that there's one more, but I can't remember which one.

I'm sure it will be a great trip - it's just the anticipation of the unknown factors - I'm a bit of a control freak! ;) It's the first time for all 5 children, so we will definitely follow their lead - thanks for the advice!

Hi Julie, I'm so sorry to hear that you have lost your dad

You are right, it has been a while since we met up at CP and even longer since Tiger Jack's! Have you seen or heard from Janet lately? We are all booked for Oct25-Nov2. Sorry we'll miss you, are you going solo? We are flying out of Detroit as well.

Kathe

Sorry to miss you too, Kathe! Are you going to a Hallowe'en party? I'm going with DH but he will be golfing mainly. Hoping to get him into MK for a Hallowe'en party one night, at least. I keep in touch with Janet and she's getting ready for the next Panama Cruise!

Has anyone eaten at Cape May lately? DH wants to try the dinner buffet and I was wondering if it was good because we love seafood.

Hi Kathe! :goodvibes Of course I remember you! When did your DD get married? Wow ... a 15 night cruise! Must have been awesome! Are you still at the Wonderland/Southdale store? Or do I vaguely remember something a couple of years back where you switched companies?

Julie ... so sorry to hear about your Dad. I'm sure you're incredibly busy with your Mom ... glad to see that you're getting in a trip soon ... it's probably much needed.

For everyone with upcoming trips ... Happy Planning!

:wave2: Hi MaryLiz, yes I'm so looking forward to WDW in October! That DING came at a perfect time, just as I was headed out again to Niagara! :wizard:

Hopefully, a date will work out for all of us to get together again! :grouphug:

Julie, we're not planning on MNSSHP this year, although I love the parade and fireworks. I've gone 4 times now, DD and DSIL once. We're trying to stick to a budget for this trip  I asked if they'd rather do the party again or another Food and Wine event or two, no hesitation, they chose the F&W pairings ;)

Please say hi to Janet for me. Tell her there's quite a few of us from the PC cruise who have booked Tortola in Sept 09, and some of us have booked back to back for the week after too. Maybe she's interested?:dance3:

Hi Maryliz. I'm with the same company, same location. Lots going on at work though, not good :sad2: We'll have a banner name change soon, same company, different name, way less pay for the employees!

My DD got married in May 07, on my wedding anniversary!

I was a little worried about picking such a long cruise for my first one! The only problem is that now I'm spoiled, a week would just not be long enough! I bet your kids are getting big! Hope you are all having a great summer. It would be great if we can actually pick a date for a meet :goodvibes

Wow! I'm so pleased that we have so many people from the general London area. My family is going with another family (also from London) from October 25-November 1.

F4disneyfan, we'll be there at the same time!!!

Hi everyone, we are going Nov. 4 to 16th. We are doing the 4 night cruise in the middle of our stay. We are staying at the Poly before the cruise and the AKL after, never been to either resort so any advice would be great.

Hello everyone I just found your group. I hope you don't mind that I posted. I live in London and will be taking my 4th trip to Disney in Sept.

I saw a few people commented on MNSSHP is it any good? We got ticket for it.

You will LOVE MNSSHP! :goodvibes The parade and fireworks alone is worth the $$$. It's a truly magical night in the Kingdom with most people dressed up. :) Even though the party doesn't start officially until 7PM, you will be able to enter the park anytime after 4PM - unless they change that. So my advice is to go as early as you can, get some attractions in, have a quick burger or such, and then party the night away Trick or Treating in MK. :thumbsup2

I just wanted to apologize for my disappearance last week - my home child care took a bit of a bottoming out and I needed time to regroup. I want to

We did that party in 2006 on Halloween Night and except for the HUGE crowd it was an amazing event. What would Disney be like without crowds !!! ;) You will enjoy it, guarenteed !!!!!

A friend of mine (who is a Disney regular, recommends Cape May highly. I have my reservation in December !!

I just wanted to apologize for my disappearance last week - my home child care took a bit of a bottoming out and I needed time to regroup. I want to :welcome: everyone to this thread and I think I have come up with a solution to our "meetings. I would like to pick out a restaurant/venue (a different one each month if you want !) that we can meet at on a monthly basis that will accomodate a fair number of us. The beauty of a monthly event is that if you miss one, you can get caught up at the next one. We can share experiences and photos, offer advice, and generally enjoy the company of of Disney people. I was also hoping :ssst: with a whole lot of planning, we could plan a group trip down there. Maybe even go at the same time as the A Channel and show off our London Disney spirit to the rest of the ??province?? !!!! pixiedust:
So ..... what do you think ?? We can hold the meeting on just about any night, maybe even make up a little DISboards friends newsletter for everyone who wants one or missed the get together. I was thinking we could hold the first one sometime during the second or third week of September. Let me know !!! :earboy2: This could be a lot of fun !!!!
