I am in charge of finding a place for our group of 50 to have dinner. We are a high school boys' soccer team and their families. Right now I have a tentative dinner scheduled at Ryan's. Our team voted against CiCi's. Are there any other options you could tell me about that would be fixed price and serve yourself or at least low cost and healthy (not fast food). I am not a buffet person, so none of this sounds very appealing to me. I talked with the manager of a Mexican restaurant and he didn't seem too interested in working with us on a Friday night at 7 o'clock when he's normally packed anyway. (The girls team ate a fajita buffet there last year)

About 6 minutes from Springfield is a restaurant called Lamberts Cafe. Its in Ozark, MO. They have wonderful food. It is a large restaurant and they do many tour bus groups. I would give them a call. I don't have a number handy. I know you can look them up on the internet. They have been on the Food Channel before. And are known for their throwed rolls!!!

Lamberts was definitely my first thought. It is fun and unique and holds a ton of people. There is always a wait so I'd find out how they handle large groups. One thing to note is that it isn't super cheap. Meals are $10-15, but they include all you can eat rolls (thrown at you) and pass around sides (people walking around dishing them up for anyone who wants them).

ETA: one thing to note, they do not accept credit cards. So plan on cash. I believe they have an ATM on site.
