Anyone from Newton Abbot?? Or near??

If you want to live right by the sea then Southsea is great, it has its own shopping centre, lots of nightlife and parks etc and you are walking distance to Pompey city centre. You are also walking distance to Gun Wharf which is very nice, its a shopping/entertainment district overlooking a marina, its got lovely restaurents and clubs like Tiger Tiger etc.
If you want to live outside of a city then I would suggest the Waterlooville town area and the surrounding villages of Cowplain, Horndean, Clanfield and Rowlands castle. These areas all have shops, pubs etc. The schools are good, they are nice village ones. At the moment I live in the city but when I have children I want to move back to that area as its a nice area for kids. Theres parks, woods etc and its safe with very little crime. In that area you are only about a 10 min drive from Pompey city centre and about 15 mins from Southsea beach, the bus links are good.

Hi,

There are some nice villages around Newton Abbot all with good Primary Schools - ie Ipplepen, Ogwell, Denbury, Abbotskerswell (v expensive houses here though) they are all no further than 5 miles from Newton Abbot which has 2 good Comprehensives.

I live in Kingsteignton, can't really call it a village as it practically merges with Newton Abbot now but it has 2 good primary schools and excellent comprehensive.

Other towns like Bovey Tracey, on the edge of the Moor are popular.
