Hello,
I live in Baton Rouge Louisiana and i was just wondering if there is anyone else on here that is from Louisiana as well????

I would like to know about how much would airline tickets cost for 2 adults a 2 girls ages 10 and 12?? we have never flown before so Just tring to gather info to make plans. Thanks

Hi...welcome to the DIS boards from a fellow Louisianian....

We have flown to Disney the past 2 years in late May and early June for $39 each way on Southwest air. After taxes and fees, it was right at $96 per person round-trip.

Southwest's normal fare is $62 each way. That's about $140 round trip after taxes and fees. You usually have to catch these fares right when they come out.

I would check out the Transportation board here on the DIS at:

http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16

They could help you more when it comes to anything transportation such as rental cars, plane tickets, Disney on-site transportation, etc.

When are you planning on traveling?

Speed :teleport:

Lafayette, LA here.

Remember Southwest flies out of New Orleans only. For you it may not be a problem, but I know they have scaled back their flights. Download their "ding" and it will let you know when they are running specials from New Orleans to Orlando (usually around $52 one way).

Out of Baton Rouge, Delta is normally your airline.

I have found Travelocity usually has the best airline deals.

Hey There!

Another Disney Fan from Baton Rouge, LA...GEAUX TIGERS!
I am a student LSU...but my family lives in Gonzales.

Anyways, I usually fly Southwest when going. They have sclaed back their flights for the time being, but their prices cannot be beat!!

Shreveport has a new airline here - Allegient Air. Right now they are only flying to Las Vegas, but they say they may start direct flights to Orlando in the near future. We'll see. We always drive.

SOuthwest is usually the best out of New Orleans. THe "ding" is great. DD and I went to MNSSHP in October on ding rates of $29 each way. We've been in the market for our May trip. RIght now, Travelocity has the best flight prices out of New Orleans. I find Baton Rouge is the higher priced airport on the whole.

Love to see all the Louisianians on the DIS! :cool1:

Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain here!!!

We always drive down, so no help on the airfare, just wanted to say Hi!!!

If you're not willing to drive to NO for the Southwest specials, Baton Rouge is advertising $154 on Delta to Orlando. Not sure of specifics (availability, non-stop vs. transfer in Atlanta).

Based on our research, it's worth the drive to New Orleans (Kenner, technically).

ETA- We're in Prairieville, so there's only about 10min difference in the drive for us.

We will be leaving Shreveport La. early on Saturday morning. Does anyone know how long it will for us to arrive at WDW? We are considering stopping in Tallahassee, but that would mean getting up very early on Sunday to get there at a decent time to enjoy the day at the park. Any help would be great.

Not from LA (close), but saw last week that Southwest had flights $59 OW from New Orleans.

We left Shreveport at 6:30AM this morning. Arrived in Tallahassee about 6:30PM (Eastern time), about 11 hours, but traffic was horrid in Mobile where the interstate narrows to two lanes just before the tunnel. Bumper to bumper from Virginia St to past Malbis. After that it cleared out.

From Tallahassee it's another four hours or less.

We're taking Hwy 27 from Tallahassee to Ocala then on to Naples (we're heading to WDW after a few days at Marco Island). It's about another 100 miles from Tallahassee to I-75. Then about 2 hrs to WDW from there.
