Which resort are you staying at? I am going to call today about switching our POR reservations to WL. It is going to be so fun so many from Louisiana are going to be there. We should all decorate lime green mickey heads with plastic crawfish or something like that so we will be able to ID disers from LA.
We are staying at All Star Sports Resort. They are currently remodeling the rooms and they should be done by the time we go.
We have never stayed at WL, but we did stay at POR one summer (in June).
If you do decide to stay there, try to request a building in the Alligator Bayou section close to the main building (like #14, 15, 16, or 18). We stayed in the Mansion section in Building 85 (Magnolia Terrace). I found the walk to the main building to be rather long, but we were facing the parking lot at about the furthest spot from the bridge to the swimming pool "island". The other thing that was bad about our location was that we were closest to the East Depot for the buses. The East Depot is the last pickup point for the buses, and POR usually shares a bus with POFQ. So, we were bus stop #5 out of 5 and would always catch a bus in the morning that was either standing room only....or it was completely full and we would need to wait for the next bus.
If you are close to the Main Building, you can catch the bus there and you would be at stop #2 out of 5 (POFQ is stop #1).
Of course...this was all during early June....which I'm sure was way busier than February will be. However, Thanksgiving will probably be busier than our June trip was.
I have never been during Thanksgiving, but I know a few people that have been and they said it was packed for the whole week (especially closer to Thanksgiving....Weds, Thurs, Fri, Sat). I have a fellow worker here that is going this Thanksgiving.
If you do decide to go for Thanksgiving, I would either subscribe to TourGuideMike.com or get an Unofficial Guide for a little guidance on how to avoid the crowds. I can never understand how some people will spend at least $2,000 (and usually more) for a vacation, and then not spend $20 on a book or website subscription to learn more about their vacation destination and help to make their vacation fun.
We have never been on a cruise, but we are planning on a
Disney Cruise in 2009....and I can guarantee I will be buying a book or two to do a little research before spending my $2,000+ on a cruise for my family of 3.
