Anyone from Henry Co., GA 9/16-9/21?

Just wondering if anyone else in Henry is taking advantage of our "Fall Break" to head down to WDW?

we're heading down the 19th thru the 28th. (this is our first year of homeschooling - but we're still from henry co.) however, a lot of my friends are heading down for fall break week. we've always gone during that week, too.

We've gone the last 2 years during that week and it has been GREAT. I'm worried this year because I've read so much about the dining plan problems (ADR's) etc... I know other counties are doing the "Fall Break" now also. Thanks for the reply...

I'm heading down there. First time in 30 years, and it will be my kids first time. We are all so excited. I hope the crowds aren't too bad, I hear it is the best time to go.

This is my first year teaching in Cherokee County. We started planning the trip when they offered me the job last December!!

We are leaving about 1pm Friday.

By the way...the Tennessee / Florida game is in Gainesville on Saturday afternoon. Traffic on 75 could be a nightmare!! We made arrangements to leave earlier rather than sitting in traffic with 2 toddlers.

Haha... traffic is bad on 75 south every Friday. I have to drive it home from the airport everyday. And will have to tomorrow also. Luckily, we're flying out Sunday morning and won't have to deal with it. Where are you staying?

This is our 3rd year at this time. We have been pleasantly surprised each time with the crowd level and the weather and expect the same this time. I can't wait!!

We booked a cabin at Ft. Wilderness. We like the idea of being a little more remote for the baby's nap, while also giving both boys lots of room to run!!

I've done that 75 S drive too and it stinks! Our reservations at WDW don't start until Saturday, so we will drive until we want to stop tonight and get a room.

We are leaving today. DD will miss today at school. I love going during this time. We went last year and in 2004. WE LOVE FALL BREAK!!!

It looks like we'll be one of the few people staying at SSR. I haven't seen very many people posting that they will be at SSR, but the resort isn't why we go!! Having older kiddos, we'll be at the parks the whole time!

The kids say that many of their friends will be down there also, some at Univeral etc... we should make a good showing for Henry Co.!!

Our fall break is in October (Spalding Co) wonder what the crowds are like then. But since I am in college and my breaks don't jive with the kid's breaks we will have to plan for next year. Update when you get back and advise on the crowds PLEEEEEEEase !!!

I think you are already off! maybe you will check in when you get back? I saw this post and thought I would reply,

WE SHOULD be there now, POR had everything booked for FREE DDP for the whole week checking in yesterday! But we just moved from Henry county (McDonough too) up to Cobb, and the kids here don't have that fall break , so we had to cancel and rebook for the summer (which will cost us about an extra 1k ) I have been very sad this week as I had everything booked down to EVERY adr... oh well, thanks for letting me vent here ..

I hope your family is having a great time, and tell us all about it when you get back!!

We got back Friday night!! What a wonderful trip, there were lots of people, but surprisingly the lines were not bad at all. Mostly strollers everywhere. We were able to walk on most rides. We only fastpassed Soarin'.

Saw a few love bugs, not enough to even count...

Had absolutely no problem getting tables at the TS restaurants. We called that morning for what we wanted and even got Chef Mickey's.

Saratoga Springs was very nice. We loved the pool area. We had no problem with buses or crowds.

When we checked in, I told them our anniversary was on Friday and they gave us the anniversary pins, we got "Happy Anniversarys" everywhere we went. It was great... by the end of the week, hubby was just randomly spouting off how many years!! haha On our last day, we got a signed Mickey & Minnie pic and balloons in our room!!! It was fantastic!!

It was an incredible week... the magic was with us all week!!
