We are from Cle. but we will be flying out of columbus. We were lucky and got great ticket prices. Anyways we will be driving to the columbus airport and we will need to park our car while in florida, can anyone tell me a couple of names of lots to park around the airport? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the info. That is a great rate, is that the airport parking exactly? Can you tell me briefly how I would find it? Thanks again!!:sunny:

It's been a little while since I've been to Port Columbus airport, but there have been several advertisements on the radio recently for two long-term airport parking lots -- I think they're the "red" lot and the "blue" lot (I suppose it could be red, green, blue -- sorry, I just don't remember). One is a tad bit closer to the airport and runs $6 or $7 a day; the other one runs $5 or $6 a day. If I'm understanding the commercials correctly, these two lots are on International Drive, the road that leads right into the airport terminal area, which means they are practically a stone's throw away from the airport. Both offer shuttles to passenger drop-off.

There is an offsite parking lot -- it used to be called 3-C parking, but I think the name has changed. Anyway, it is just across the main road from the airport. You can drive into that lot and a lot attendant will ride over to the airport with you in your car, drop you off at curbside, and then take your car back to the parking lot. I don't know the daily cost, but it's about $8 or $9 a day.

I wish I could give you actual names and dollar amounts, but I just haven't really paid that much attention to the commercials. The signage in and around the airport is pretty good. You shouldn't have any trouble figuring it out once you see it.

I just lost my post so I'll try this again. Your options are:

1. Park on airport property. The blue lot is the closest long term parking lot at the airport. If you do to the Columbus airport website, they have a coupon for this lot which would make it $5 a day (normally it's $6 a day). Park and then shuttle to airport. Check out the columbus airport website, click on parking, and you will find a coupon for this parking lot.

2. Thrifty offers parking near the airport entrance. It's a valet parking so it can be expensive. However, it's nice to be dropped off. When you return, you call from the airport, ride their shuttle, then your car is waiting for you. Check with your local AAA. I know ours offer discount coupons but it still will run you at least $7 per day plus taxes.

3. www.sunparkcolumbus.com I believe this used to be 3C parking. They have several different options plus a coupon on their website. I've never used them.

4. If you are driving down and staying in a hotel the night before, the hotels on the airport property offer 5 days of "free parking". I don't know what their daily rate is after the 5 days.

Hope this helps!

We lived in Akron and flew out of Columbus. We drove down the day before and stayed at a hotel for a great rate and used their shuttle. It was great on the return, they took us right to our car. So this is definitely something to consider if you have an early flight.

I asked DH and he thought the blue lot was the one he used the last time he flew. It is on the airport property, but I can't help with location, I haven't been to the airport in years, but that will change soon!

I'm actually from Dayton but have flown out of Columbus a number of times.

There is a Hampton Inn, a Hilton Garden Inn, a Comfort Suites, and a Cross Country Inn right next to the airport (http://www.port-columbus.com/maps/lots.asp). I know the first two offer park-and-fly option and believe the other two do as well.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in 2002 before leaving and it worked well. They forgot to charge us the extra $20 for the parking. :smooth: (They were supposed to charge $5/night after 5 days; we were gone 9 days.) Also I actually left the car unlocked the whole time we were gone, and it was untouched!

If you don't need a room, definitely use the Blue lot. The shuttles are frequent and the drivers are very courteous. With the coupon, the only reason to use the Red lot would be if the Blue lot were full. (There is also a Green lot, which doesn't seem to be used much.)

All of this is so close to the airport it would be an easy walk if you didn't have luggage.

Is your fight on Southwest?
