Anyone from Buffalo?

I am here also, my name is Diane. DH, DD15, DS12, and me. We live in Cheektowaga and we will also be in Disney in April with DD school band/dance team.

so i just got back from Tops doing my weekly grocery shopping... and it was sooo cold that i thought my fingers were going to fall off!!! just looked on the weather channel and they said there is an -18 degree wind chill!! holy cow! no wonder!!! didn't realize it was soooo cold!! I'm praying for no school as well!!!

grew up in Amherst ... left the area for college and haven't returned ... currently living about 35 miles west of Albany, NY.

it's also cold and windy out this way ... and those folks in the Oswego area are getting buried with lake effect snow!!

Despite the cold temps, we've considered ourselves fortunate ... our #1 son lives in Fairbanks, Alaska, and the temperatures throughout last week were all in the -40 degree F. range! (it was -29 when we stepped off the plane there back in December ... our first Christmas visit to the great white north).

so was anyone at that sabres game the other night??????? wow!! is all i can say!!

They play the leafs tonight!!

Go Sabres!!!

Saw it on tv and immediately flashed to Clint Malarchuk. Rick Martin was knocked silly here too when he smacked his head on the ice. Very serious injuries happen all over, but we've had way more than our share.

Hey I'm from Tonwanda and am getting really sick of this weather too! Shouldn't it be warming up soon to say maybe 35 degrees?? :confused3 Even that would be better than in the teens!

Go Sabres and please pray they keep the Bills here! Maybe they can freeze Ralph Wilson like Walt??:lmao:

I had tickets for the game but ended up having to sell them at the last minute. Had I gone my seats would have been directly above where the incident happened, I don't know what I would have done had I been there :confused3

I am watching the game as I type and I am crossing my fingers that we can make it 3 in a row :)

OK so like I said I am new to the area ( Clarence ) any good recommendations for Dr.'s and most important hair salon???????:thumbsup2

Yeah, but isn't it great that we have the advantage of having fabulous medical personnel, both on site and at the hospitals, who came to the rescue? The quick thinking and response to these injuries surely saved the lives of these young athletes. We Western New Yorkers are a hearty bunch! Disney in 5 WEEKS!:goodvibes :cool1:

We are from Williamsville,NY! Headed down April 9th for sun and fun!
It has been a rough winter! I have been wishing that our trip was scheduled for February instead of April!

Drs for you or the kids? For the kids I would recommend Tonawanda Peds. They have an East Amherst Location on Transit Rd and one of their very best Drs works out of that location. (Dr Piwko)
I still am unable to find a good Dr for myself but I'll let you know if I ever find one:)

For hair try the Lion's Mane on Main St right by Williamsville South High School. If you want a cheaper place I go to Bangs in the TransitTowne Plaza. My girl (amanda) moved there from a more expensive place and now it's costs me 1/2 as much for the same haircut!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info! We just moved here from LI 2 weeks ago. I must say the people around here are very nice.
My daughter is 21 years old, she is disabled so her peds in LI would have kept her until she was 25 but I don't think a new DR. around here will do that so I guess I need to look for an adult Dr. for all of us.
For hair someone told me about Capellos have you heard any thing about them???
UGHHHHHHH This whole move is giving me a :headache:
I am just happy I have my disboards to plan my next trip:thumbsup2

Yes Cappellos (on Main St) is very good. I was originally going to rec there but I like the Lion's Mane too (a little cheaper). If you go to Capello's ask for Nathan, he's a friend!
I wish I could help you with a Dr. Did you ask before you left LI? Being so close to UB you'd think your old Dr could recommend someone maybe associated with the school for you.
