Not from ABQ but I go there often ( my Parents live a few miles northwest of town.)
One of my fav restaurants is El Pinto http://www.elpinto.com/
I also like Garduno's,http://www.gardunosrestaurants.com/test/ there are several in town. I love New Mexican food, so that's all I eat when I am there!

Old Town Abq is a neat collection of shops and is close to the museum http://www.albuquerqueoldtown.com/

The Museum of History and science is very neat for adults and children http://www.nmmnh-abq.mus.nm.us/nmmnh/NMMNH.html

The Sandia Peak tram is great for a neat view of the area http://sandiapeak.com/

To learn about the native Indian culture, don't miss the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center http://www.indianpueblo.org/intro/index.cfm

The Rio Grande Zoo is a very good zoo http://www.cabq.gov/biopark/zoo/index.html

Have a great time... I'll be in Jemez Springs NM visiting my parents that week!

I'm not from there, sorry.

But I'll offer up a word of advice if you go: take that left turn. I've always regretted not doing so... ;)

J/K. :jester: Please pardon me for not resisting. I hope you have an enjoyable, safe trip. :sunny:

Hi! I'm from the Albuquerque area, all of perdidobay suggestions are great, I just wanted to add that some other fun places to go would be the Aquarium and Botanical Gardens. They have a great fantasy garden and a butterfly pavilion. http://www.cabq.gov/biopark/
Also, Explora! Children's museum is pretty cool, we had friends visiting and their kids are 17 and 20 and they had a lot of fun there. http://www.explora.mus.nm.us/
There are a couple of more museums in that same area, the Rattlesnake museum and the National Atomic Museum.

Garduno's is one of my favorite restaurants, but a word of warning, the chile is hot! Village Pizza in Corrales is also really great.

Hope you have a fun time!
