I shall be staying at OKW and booking the Palm and Osprey Ridge for Nov 17th and 19th. As I am a single player is there anyone looking for a game on these dates.I play off a 12(going on 15)handicap and will be ringing in the next few days to see if the courses are available.

DH has golfed as a single many times, and has always enjoyed the people he's paired with. And he's had a few "It's a small world" experiences. Once he ended up with someone who always stayed at OKW, loved it, and it so happened it was the day before we were trying OKW for the first time. And once he happened to meet a man who worked with my school, a small school in a town few people have even heard of. So you never know who you'll meet!

I appreciated your efforts to hook up for golfing. I too have attempted to find a playing partner on this board without much sucess. I will try again in March but I don't have much hope. Not finding a partner or group to share a tee time I am often sent out to play on my own. When you play alone its alot of standing around waiting or you play so fast that it isn't much fun.

If you comming back to WDW in March let me know. I would love to play with you.

It would be great to pair up in March but we are going to San Francisco and Las Vegas in march 2004. We will be back at disney in Nov 2004 and March 2005.Good luck in your search

Sorry Mickey.

My friend and I are considering a winter golf holiday from Canada and I was thinking about Florida, possibly staying at Vero Beach and looking for courses nearby. Disney courses are a tad pricey for me.

As for taking your chances on who you get paired with, today we got paired with two young men who complained to the starter that they had to play with other people. Sunday on a long weekend! They starter said fine, pay two more green fees and you can play by yourself! I hope you have better luck.

We're not arriving until the next week. I know my son and 2 sil would have loved to have you as the fourth member of their group.

Hi Mickey,
my DH is golfing on 17 Nov., but I believe he already booked Magnolia. Are you an early bird or a late golfer? I'll see if he's up for a second round or changing his ressie.

I've been "paired up" many times and always found the people to be good company. I think it helps that everyone's on holiday and a good deal less stressed than they may be at home :D. If you don't mind playing alone ( which I quite enjoy) and don't want to get caught up behind other larger groups I've found that if you book one of the earliest timed "twilight rate" and get to the starter 10-15 minutes before you're due off, the starter will often send you out before your time and it means that you have virtually no one in front of you ( few people book that hour before twilight )and no one behind. It means you don't feel you have to rush but can go at your own speed. This is particularly nice on the quieter EP +OR courses as it gives you a chance to catch a sight of some of the wildlife that would normally be scared off if there are more people about.

I will have the DVC golf badge so the green fee is $50 plus tax for me and 3 guests. I have booked Eagle pines 10am on the 17th and the Palm at 10.04 on the 19th this is because the other courses are having maintainance in the first 2 weeks of Nov like overseeding the greens so I thought Eagle and Palm may be in better condition. You can call the starter on 407 939 4653 and asked to be paired with Derek Brown or I can look to change my tee time. You can not tee off using the DVC badge before 10am.
Let me know what you decide

No sooner said than done.We will be in WDW in Nov 2004 as well, just don't know quite what dates yet

Hi Derek,
I've forwarded your reply to my husband, so we will let you know. Thanks! Can't wait to see the mouse!

Derek,
I'd love to play with you, but I reserved a tee time at the Magnolia. I really want to play that course, as it is never available when we are in WDW in our usual month of October because of the tournaments. I want to play each course at least once, and Magnolia is the only one I haven't done yet. Don't think the wife would be happy with 2 rounds of golf on vacation! Keep me on your list for next year, though. I always get paired with great guys (and sometimes couples) but it would be cool to pair up with someone beforehand. Thanks!
Steve
