HI,
Just wanted to let you know I just received a ding fare of 44.00/each way on SW PVD to MCO August 1-31. Expires at 12:30 central time. Good Luck!

I don't feel so good about my 59.00 July fare now... Looks like Manchester to Tampa has the same 44.00 fare....

You made my day. I just booked the 4 of us for our cruise for 420.40. When I first started it was 1040. I am going out to buy a scratch ticket. Barb  :cheer2: :cheer2:

Not happy. There is only one seat available at the Ding fare for my PVD-MCO flight. I need three. Lots of availability at the higher fares though, so hopefully something will open up later.

I know they are in SWA credit, but who cares!

I got my exact itinerary for $44 each way. I had booked at $104. The rest of my family had booked at $124! Combined, all of us going on our Grand Gathering (11 seats), saved over $1600!

You have got to love SWA. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: = 3 cheers for SWA!

I have to tell you, though, I was shaking like a leaf going through the cancellation process online.

woo-hoo!!!!! :cheer2: I just cancelled my original ressie and rebooked the Ding fare today for 8/30 for $44!!!!! I am so excited ~ it was originally $130 pp one way (including taxes etc) and I had already changed it two other times due to price decreases. After I rebooked the Ding it went down to $53 pp one way (including taxes etc) So the total for DH and I to fly to MCO went from $522 down to $366. I am loving SW more and more every day!

I now have $250 in SW credit. I cancelled and rebooked our flights down for our late August-early September trip. I kept my return flight at the $94 fare just in case no DING fares for the day after Labor Day.

I got excited but then I looked and my flights arent available. I could change to a late flight on the way down but we wanted to leave early in the morning.

Also does anyone know if I call southwest will they be able to change an itenerary using a ding. I booked a trip from PVD to Pittsburgh for my husband, brother in law and 2 friends at $240.70 a person now I can get it for $103.70. I tried to change itenerary online but its saying "We're sorry, the name you entered does not match the credit card holder's name listed under the confirmation number you entered" I am not going on that trip so I guess thats why. Anything I can do? If they were to get a credit would it go to my account, I could use the credit for December air but don't think they would use the credit as they dont fly much. Help me...please...lol

just booked $44 airfare!!!got the exact time I wanted!!
our arrival total for 6 of us $316 now I have a $468 credit just waiting to see if I get a ding for our return in September!

in order to get the Ding fare, you must cancel the original reservation first, get a SW credit, then use the credit to purchase the Ding fare. That would leave you with a credit for the difference between the original price and the new Ding price.

The best way to do this is to open the Ding window and select the flights you need and go all the way up until you need to select form of payment. Then open another window and go to travel center to cancel the original flight. Once you cancel the flight, you will then have ticketless travel funds to use to pay for the Ding flights. Go back to the Ding flights window and then you can select the TTF to pay. I just did this for our outbound flight on 8/30...it sounds a little confusing, but it was rather easy. But you need to be quick, sometimes the Ding flights can sell out quickly and then you will be left with no flight at all.

Who booked the original reservation? Was it your cc that paid for the original reservation? You only need the confirmation number and the name of the person that is on the cc used to pay for the flights. Can you try entering in your DH's name instead of yours?

cepmom, thank you so much for helping me. I did it. LOL. I had both pages up and it was after 12:30 even thought the ding said til 12:30 it let me still order the ding price. Woohoo. Saved hubby, brother in law and friends $130 each , that I now have to refund to 2 of the guys that already paid, but I can use the travel funds for December air to Orlando.

Know what stinks though, I called southwest before I read cepmoms reply and the guy I talked to told me there was nothing I could do because I wasnt flying with them, he said if I had a southwest credit card though I could have got a credit or refund(not exactly sure which one he said), then tried to get me to talk to someone for a credit card but I said no thanks. Funny how you can get better info on these boards than you can from their workers.

I was hoping to book flights today PVD to MCO. I was waiting for my friend's DH to check with his boss that he could get the dates off. Then when I saw the ding I told my friend we had to book by 12:30. Her DH (who's off today) tracked his boss down at home and got the OK. I got all 7 tickets at $105.60. I had resigned myself to paying $205.60 with slim hopes that I could get a credit. I just saved $700!!!! And we are trying the FREE dining for the first time too!!!

:cool1:

What a great way to cheer up a Monday!!!

Congrats!!!!

Don't you just love all the info you get here. I wouldn't have figured ding out without the help of folks here.

BTW...you have until 12:30 Central Time so that's 1:30 for us. :teeth:

shelleyz ~

yay!! :cool1: I am so glad you were able to make it work!

My DH came home this morning to check his email for something he had been expecting when we heard the Ding go off...I was like "get up! get up! I need to check Providence!" :rotfl: He thought I had lost it! I was so excited that I got the Ding for our outbound flight!! I didn't expect it to be so soon. The best part is, I got a $100 SW credit, but DH has a business trip planned for next week so I went ahead and booked his business trip using the $100 SW credit. Now he will get reimbursed for his business flight and we'll get our money back after all (in a round about sort of way) :thumbsup2

ahha I didn't catch the part about central time.

Wish I could have gotten it for my Orlando trip but not willing to change my times. Thats ok though, hubby saved $130.

I went to change a June booking to this morning's August Ding as it would fit in with Disney's availability better, but SW's site didn't carry over the funds from the first booking. (Figures, just my luck today)

Instead I spent the better part of an hour on the phone with various SW employees (no 1-800# for these folk BTW) figuring out what had happened in their system and missed the Ding I wanted to switch to.

They still haven't returned the funds to my account & said they'll look into it more & if they couldn't do it in the computer they'd MAIL me a voucher to use at a SW counter! This voucher will arrive in 3-6 weeks! ... DING! dang! darn! 1st problem I've ever had with this company - hope they fix it!

:surfweb: :scared1: :badpc: :sad2:

Thanks for this post! I was able to get one leg of the trip, but I ran out of time for the trip home.

Bummer is I looked at this ding and August did not come up. when I saw the post, I looked again and August was not listed. When I changed the selection to one way, it finally showed.

I would be mad, but I'm so happy that I got at least one way for a great price!

thanks again!
Lisa

:cool1:
Great news!! With only 10 minutes to spare until 12:30 Central time, I had to download DING (cause I'm at work)and try to book my outbound. Got the day and time I needed. Still need to wait for our return since we come home on Sep. 1.
Best part is, I held out for at least $79 but was hoping for $59, $44 is even better!! And no credit to have to deal with.
Thanks again!!!

I got one-way for $44 PVD-MCO. Now I have to book my return flight on 9/3 or 9/4. I wonder if they will have a Labor Day special....

I'm watching Jet Blue as well.

Anyone else looking for Labor Day weekend?
