Anyone fly from Milwaukee to Orlando lately?

We have a rather paranoid person coming with us to WDW. She would not have been able to fly with us if our flight numbers contained certain sequences. Ok..... In addition she is a bit freaked about radiation levels. Does anyone know how much they use those x-ray machines that so many people freaked out about awhile ago? I'm afraid if we get there and she has to go through one, well let's just say I hope we could get her to go through.

I've advised her to see her Dr. and ask for something to help calm her anxiety about flying. She's an adult and this is her first time flying.

Most people who are afraid of flying fear the flight itself - not flight numbers or radiation! YOU may be the one needing something from the doctor if you get this person on the plane!

We just flew out of MKE for spring break a few weeks ago and also in Oct. In Oct for no apparent reason I was just randomly selected to do the x-ray. It was truely no big deal and only took a few seconds. During spring break I forgot to take my belt off and buzzed going through the first scanne.r I told the TSA guy about my belt, and then I took it off and went through again. All was fine and I went on my way without having to do the X-ray. So you just really don't know.

As a previous poster suggested I would encourage your friend to talk to her doctor about an anxiety med. My Dh doesn't care for take-offs and landings and the best thing we did was get him some meds. He takes a pill when we get to the airport and feels much better through the flight. I was really worth the cost of the doctors visit. The Doctor may also be able to answer her questions about radiation from the x-ray should she need it.

My wife gets anxious when we fly so her doctor will give her a prescription for Ativan (2 pills, one for each way) when we go on vacation.

And we are in fact flying from Milwaukee to Orlando on this upcoming May vacation. First time flying out of Milwaukee though. We live about halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago. I bought these Air Tran tickets back in October and they were half as much as the cheapest flight I could find out of O'Hare.
