There is an airline in Hagerstown, MD, that offers $59 flights to Sanford, FL and was wondering if anyone has done this?
If so did you book your tickets online and did you get a rental car?
If you got a rental car through the airline did you also get the 10% DVC discount applied to the airline promotion?

You would need to rent a car or hire a car service. Disney doesn't provide transportation out of Sanford. The Sanford airport is about 50 miles north of WDW. The most direct route would be SR 417 which is a toll road.

I looked into this as we are in WV, but decided to stay with Dulles. This is what we took into account with Hagerstown. They only leave on Mondays and Friday to MCO and only one evening flight. This would put us in Sanford around 9:30-10:00 depending on weather. My rental car of choice, National, closes at 10:00PM (not sure about others) so I would have to try to find an airline still open if the flight was late -- which is the norm for summer travel. You pay to choose your seat ($11 per person). You pay per bag pp ($15). You can carry on, BUT if you bag does not meet the guidelines and they have to gate check it there is a $35 fee. The good side is that parking at the airport is free. The return flight home again is on Monday and Fridays. We have been flying Jetblue or SW out of Dulles and I've been getting fares of $69-$74 each way on both airlines. No charge for seat and no charge for bags -- Plus you can use RAC to have your bags sent to the airport (JetBlue). We still always rent a car, but could choose DME if we wanted. The downside is you do have to pay to park at Dulles $10 a day, but we generally just have one of our kids drop us off and pick us up, so we don't pay parking. I've never heard anything bad about Alligeant, and it's nice that there is an option for Hagerstown (both of my adult kids live in Hagerstown). You just need to know all of the facts before making your decision.

Thanks n2mm for the input. I think we are going to try this and see what happens. You got a good point about the rental if flight is late, so not sure what we will do if we dont get there in time. Alamo is the rental the airline uses and they close at 11.
I figured doing this would cost us about $500 more than what we would spend driving. I have asked friends for there input on this and they said it would be worth the extra money to get there quicker and no wear and tear on my vehicle.

I would love to hear your feedback when you return. I guess Hagerstown is in the middle between you and I. (We live in Charles Town, WV), but we shop in Hagerstown often (Valley Mall). Alleigant sometimes has fares as low as $29 so we have been tempted a few times to do a Friday to Monday trip.

Will let you know how it goes. Live in Altoona, PA. Hagerstown is about an hour and half from us depending on traffic and my heavy foot, lol.
