Just looked at Southwests schedule to Orlando from Buffalo. The direct flight times are way too early. Does anyone have experience flying through Baltimore/Washington with a change of planes. Thanks

Yes a few times. I believe this is one of Southwests hub. All the SW gates are together so you don't have to move far and they move all your luggage.

You should really consider the early times though. We have taken the 6:30am a couple times and you are at WDW by 10am!

A few years ago we flew SW from Detroit to Baltimore then changed planes then flew to Orlando. We got off at gate A4 then our flight to Orlando was at gate A3. Took a whole 30 seconds to move over:lmao: Layover was an hour. We still had lots of time to go up into the food court, grab some McDonalds, eat then wait for our plane. Well laid out airport from what we saw

I looked at the times too...it is not so much the early going down time, but coming home that early in the morning might be too much for us. And I think changing planes on the way home would be a pain. Also we lose a whole day that way too.:sad2:

Baltimore is a good airport and an easy change of planes with Southwest. If this is how it will be going forward then I don't like Baltimore in the winter as a connection. It's a snow affected airport on the coast.

Thanks for the opinions. I went ahead and booked through Baltimore. Early morning flights are not my thing.

We also booked through Baltimore today. To make up for the extra travel time from not getting direct flights, we added one day at WDW.:cool1:

It's been a few years since I have been at BWI, but one thing I recall is that many people from the Washington, DC, area come to BWI solely for Southwest, which National Airport (DCA) and Dulles (IAD?) lack, so that Southwest gate area can get pretty crowded, whereas the rest of the airport seemed pretty empty. So be ready for lots of bodies.

GL!
