Anyone flown Lufthansa recently?

I was just on a few travel message boards reading stuff about Lufthansa. My travel company has put my 14 yo DS & myself on Lufthansa from Philadlephia to Frankfurt to London in a few weeks (still can't believe it's almost here.) We used to have non-stop but the "$99 companion fare is not available on the non-stop", yada yada yada. . . . .

A lot of the posts on the other boards were kind of on the negative side. Has anyone flown Lufthansa economy recently from over there to here and NOT lost your luggage? The way these people were talking it was like they ALL lost stuff when being on connecting flights.

Our flight into Frankfurt and leaving Frankfurt are out of the same terminal - so I'm thinking it can't be THAT bad and hopefully our luggage won't be lost.

Any other (hopefully positive) opinions? It's our first trip abroad and I'm a bit nervous/excited and would rather not have something like this to worry about.

Thanks anyway - we're going regardless - I guess the more you don't know in this case, the better. We don't have anything to compare the flights to so we'll just see.

We traveled with Lufthansa last year from Manchester to New York and back, one way via Frankfurt and the other way via Munich. We got upgraded to buisness class on the Frankfurt New York leg actually my partner was upgraded as she had a different last name to me at the time and they thought she was traveling on her own! they were upgrading all the lone female travelers!!!!! so I got dragged along in to buisness class.

The only problem we encountered was on the way back at Munich, as we had arrived from New York we had either US dollars or sterling, no Euros, not a problem I thought I'll use my credit card! when I got my bill I had been charged 5 times for the same transaction. Two of these times was the day after we left Munich when I was back in the Uk in hospital having knee surgery?

Oh yes the last point we had no problems what so ever with our luggage straight through waiting for us at both ends as always (touch wood)
