Has anyone flown BUF-MCO/MCO-BUF lately? I am trying to decide between this option or Pearson-MCO/MCO-Pearson? Flying end of August.
The cost is not an issue but I'm not sure what the pros and cons are of each option. Couple things: I need to check luggage,it looks like JetBlue is the best option out of Buffalo while Air Canada is best out of Pearson. I've heard that checking luggage at both airports can be tricky? Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Flew JetBlue out of Buffalo last week and flew Southwest back. Buffalo is by far the easier airport to navigate. I don’t like YYZ on a good day and right now I would avoid it if given any other option.

They are having a lot of trouble with customs and delays at YYZ and it’s been in the media. We had zero issues in and out of BUF. The advantage to me is clearing customs at the land border rather than the airport as well. I pretty much prefer BUF in all ways over YYZ.

We flew jet blue down and southwest home a couple of weeks ago . It’s very easy to navigate and the crew members were great. We paid extra to check our luggage but they were super helpful when we arrived at the airport

I haven't flown out of Pearson since 2018 but fly often out of BUF. We just did a trip to MCO from BUF on Southwest with a checked bag and had no issues. It was easy peasy in fact. Our flight was a bit delayed because the plane flew in from Chicago before a storm hit. It took us just over 3 hours to get to our gate because we took a 3 hour detour at the lounge. It would have taken us 15 minutes from car to gate otherwise.

I heard that boarding on Southwest can sometimes be complicated? Can we choose our seats ahead of time? It’s one of the reasons I was thinking of avoiding flying with them but maybe I’m worried about nothing?

It is open seating and the earlier you check-in the better your boarding number will be. We always add Early Bird Check-In but that's because I don't want the anxiety of finding seats. If you are travelling with children 6 yo or younger, you board after the A (priority group) and before the B group. For some, it's NBD. If you check-in right at the 24 hour mark, you'll get a decent boarding number. If you forget to check-in until you get to the airport, you'll get a C number and will likely need to split your group up into solo middle seats or seats in the back.

It's definitely not for all, but it's now second nature for us.
