Anyone Flown Into Lakeland Airport ?

We are considering flying into Lakeland Airport.
Don't know too much about it (website is very basic).
I'm assuming the disembarking and luggage retreival is simple ?
The one thing that concerns me the most is car rental. It shows two companies
but it doesn't say if they are "in terminal" (well, it does but I read it was coming soon...??).
It looks like a 45 minute drive or so to Orlando. I am correct ?

Note that Direct Air's charter flights to Lakeland do not start until next month. There is currently no scheduled service at Lakeland (and there does not appear to have been any since the 1970s), so unless someone's flown there on a private aircraft, you may need to wait a month or so for answers....

We booked too from Plattsburg NY to Lakeland in January. A person from the airport assures me that the car rental companies will be all set up in the terminal and will be available for flight arrivals. You're right, it's about 40 minutes to WDW from Lakeland. I am really looking forward to flying from tiny airport to tiny airport.
