Has anyone here flown the Delta YUL-MCO route with a 45-minute stop at New York LGA? Is 45 minutes enough time to make the connection? It says the 2nd flight is often delayed by 30+ minutes. The $398 price is good but not if I'm going to miss the connecting flight and spend all day fighting to get to Orlando.

I have not done that route myself, but I would expect that while tight, it is doable.

If you are able to book this as one itinerary, it is a "legal connection", meaning the airline will be responsible for getting u to MCO, either on your booked flight or the next one if you miss.

Since you will preclear US customs in YUL, it is a domestic connection at LGA. That means not having to get your bags.

Plan to go straight from arrival gate to departure gate....no food or potty breaks. I would be cautious if you have little ones on this trip.....that makes it extra hard. You may be wiser to pick a later connecting flight to give you and your family time.

Good luck!!

If it's helpful LGA is what I would consider a smaller airport. It's really easy to navigate, so you won't have to sprit to the gate to catch your connection.

Thank you both for your helpful replies. Planning to travel with no kids this time so no food, no potty breaks, and I'm ready to sprint. lol. I will keep an eye on this one and keep looking. Air Transat has an ideal flight, early morning direct nonstop, but it's more than I would like to pay.

I find that 45 minutes is very tight. I've only flown YUL-MCO direct or with a stop in Miami (AA) but I never book a flight with less than 1-1h30 for the layover, even without kids. I guess it also depends when you fly (expect snow delays in winter for example) and if you're flexible with your schedule in case there's some delays.

I know a couple of frequent flyers (think George Clooney in "Up in the Air") and they usually go for at least 2h connections but their schedules are very unforgiving and they must be where they need to be at the right time for meetings, etc.
