Anyone find EE too intense?

All the reports I've read of people who've gone on EE have been about how great/fun it is. Is there anyone who's gone on EE and wished they hadn't because it was too intense? I'm a ride wimp, haven't yet gotten up the courage to go on RnR, and I'm wondering about EE for our upcoming trip. Was it too much for anyone?

After watching the Ride Video EE doesn't look that bad

I am not a wimp but I get VERY motion sick

I made it my mission to try RnR last trip. I planned for it to be the last ride of the first day so if I got sick we could go back to the hotel and rest. FORTUNEATELY I loved it and we went back to MGM again the next day to ride it 5 more times

I think he was going to be the first one to physically get sick on the ride. He said the going backwards was what got him. If it hadn't been for that, he would have been fine.

Just to give you an idea of what he normally rides, it is Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Tower of Terror. He was going to try Space Mountain but it kept breaking down.

I'm a roller coaster weenie. I hate them. Expedition:Everest is very smooth and relatively tame. Can you do Dinosaur? Or Test Track? It's much better than either of those.

EE is the smoothest roller coaster I've ever been on. No herky. jerky movements. :cheer2:

Loved loved LOVED E:E. Rode 43 times during the AP/DVC Sneak Peak. Am not a coaster fan (would not spend the money by going to Universal), but adore RNRC, the mountain range, and TOT. Maybe cuz it's Disney????

EE is not that intense. Have you done Mummy at Universal? That's probably a close comparison.

How long does it go backwards? I hate riding backwards, I always have to be facing forward or I get sick.

I've done RnR once and it was fun but I don't do it anymore. Is it better or worse (scary wise) than that? I love Big Thunder but I don't like drops. Can I handle this ride? :confused3

43!!!!!!!!!!!????

It was too intense for me. I was terrified and it took me a good hour to start felling myself again afterwards. The backwards part started it and I never got it together after that.

We didn't think it was too intense. We actually loved going backwards since it was a different feeling. We generally don't do roller coasters but this one has been added to our list of approved ones.

I'm a roller coaster weeny and I could handle it. I HATE drops and this, while a little scary, I handled better than I usually handled Splash. Now Splash looks like nothing to me.

The key to helping with the backwards motion is do NOT lean your head back against the headrest. The rest vibrates and helps give you the tweaky head feeling. Lean slightly forward. You will be OK, there are no side to sides here to damage your neck or anything.

Yup. CMs dubbed me the unofficial record holder. Thursday - 20 times; Friday - 22 times; Saturday (and they say it's 'nahtazu?!?!') :lmao: :rotfl: once. I was even given a 'tour' of the control room. One of the most magical moments I've had at Disney. Did have bruises on both sides of my body from all that jiggling and riding!!!! Definitely worth it! :yay:

PS - unbeknownst to me, the CM at the Standby Entrance was timing me. Full circle was 8 minutes!!! Holy cow!!!

Will someone please elaborate on the drops? I so want to go on EE, but I HATE drops. The only ride I have been able to handle is Dinosaur (although I haven't had the guts to do RnR or TOT).

I didn't find it too late intense at all, however there are some jerky movements on the way up when you are coming into the "tunnel" with the painted Yeti, it jerks to a stop everytime.

I love good old fashioned coasters (the drops don't bother me!), it's the spirals and upside down stuff that does me in with motion sickness.

That being said, I rode EE four times during the AP/DVC sneak peek. It did bother me a bit (the going backwards part), but I found if I leaned my head back and closed my eyes for those few moments, it was not as bad. I never got sick or felt woozy all day - nothing that bad. Just a few minutes of discombobulation.

The rest of the ride was fantastic! I would definitely do it again - especially now that I know what to expect!

I rode it a total of 14 times last week. I love this ride!

I love most roller coasters, but this one just had something different. It didn't try to do what most new coasters in six flag type parks do. Those coasters eem to just try to push the envelope on uncomfortableness instead of fun.

EE to me, was fun. It's more like an adventure rather than a pure thrill ride.

The backwards part is fast and has a lot of centrifigal (bad spelling!) force going on, but it's FUN!! I think this is the most intense part. Not because of the darkness, but because it's going backwards so fast and turning and the forces are pretty strong for a few seconds.

Going down the drop.. it's similar in steepness to splash mountain, without getting wet. :) The anticipation is scarier than the actual drop. :Pinkbounc

Not sure if I need to spoiler this but: *spoiler*

When I went on it the first day (9 times), there was a strobe light for the Yeti. Two days later, the ride was down for the morning, but when I got on the strobe was gone and the Yeti was just lit up. I liked this better, you got to see him swing down at you clearly.. and it was a scarier image than a strobe

The drops on EE are very smooth. The last one (the Big One) is a tummy dropper, but in a good way. If you can handle Splash, then I think you can handle EE.
