Anyone filing taxes online?

I use Turbo Tax and efile but we don't have all our w2's yet so I can't do anything yet. I didn't look at the state release schedule but from past years, MN isn't usually ready until the first week of Feb. Turbo Tax, using the software, has had the choice to file fed, state or both. I haven't looked if that option is there this year or not. I like the efile option (Turbo Tax refunds the fee) for the convenience.

Turbo Tax as NY listed as ready-- but after 4 different people/supervisors in tech help-- it's in fact not ready w/ Turbo Tax.

It was easy to delete the state and file the federal only. Then I went back in the state repopulated w/ the federal info. The whole process was actually pretty quick.

I was in the same boat too. I can wait on the state another few weeks-- it's paying my property tax bill anyhow. The federal was "the one" I wanted. It will allow us to extend our 4 day President's Day week trip to 7-8 days--- which I was really hoping for.

That's the way MI is... :sad2: They SAID it was ready...but it's not and they kept giving me the run around on when it was.. Thanks, I'll have to try that! :hippie:

Ohhh...I just wanted to add that I don't know WHY TT says they won't do that, everyone else lets you send it seperatly.. :rolleyes1

Well I just got through taking kilee's advice and it worked!! lol  Thank goodness because TT customer reps kept telling me all kind of different stories, one of which was that it wasn't going to be ready till the end of Feb!! :badpc:

FLUFFERNUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (my faux-curse word ;)) :furious: If it ain't one thing, it's another!! :sad2:

After ALL that stuff I went through with sending just my Federal sent seperate from the state this month, I had it rejected because form 8863 won't be ready to ANY online tax preparers until Feb... :rolleyes2 This form is something that us college ppl fill out for tax credit towards the tution and whatnot for college, and it makes my refund ALOT better. However, because of something to do with Katrina (although I don't get the connection  ), a handful of forms including the Lifetime College credit thingy won't be available until Feb 1st..

Boy, you guys are lucky! I don't even have my info to get started filling out the forms yet! The only thing we have is our mortgage stuff. Nothing from my work or either of DH's jobs.
Edited...my 2 older dd's don't have any thing yet either. One works the same place as me, the other works for JoAnn Fabrics.
