Just wondering if anyone else is filing there income taxes online or have already filed.

Ughhh..just venting a little... I have ALL my taxes ready to send out online, and I'm happy we're getting a VERY good refund. However, I have to wait for Michigan to release its state form to online tax prepare sites (TurboTax , HRBlock) until I can file. :rolleyes1

Hmmm..I fully remember that I was able to file last year around the second week of January.. Owell..lol

I will...eventually..but I haven't even gotten all those lovely tax forms yet (w-2's etc.)

I will be filing online. I haven't gotten my w-2 yet either but my work said they would be giving them out this week but it's friday so we'll see if we get them today. I usually file mine at taxact for free and then hold off on the state since I normally owe.

Ughhh... thank goodness HRblock posted a schedule of different states release dates.

I looked all over Michigan Treasuries website with no luck..I even emailed the Michigan tax thingy and asked when the form would be released and they just sent me back an ambiguous answer of 'look at our website"..

I plan on fileing my state (IL) online because it's free in my state to do so. I hate the idea of paying the IRS for the privilage of e-file, so I'll just mail it in. I don't mind waiting an extra week or so for the refund, we aren't in that big a hurry!

just an FYI...when we E-file and use direct deposit for our return it goes in usually 2 weeks after we file. that is a lot faster than snail mail. jmho. ;)

I just posted the same vent alittle bit ago about NYS. I am furious. I was really hoping to have the refund prior to our President's Day trip. It would of allowed us to extend it a few days. Doesn't look like that will happen. Unfortunately, I cannot find an option on Turbo Tax to just file the federal now and the state when it's ready. Which would be nice because it's really the federal I'm looking to get.

Is there a link to the H&R Block listed schedules for each state?

I am getting nervous because we haven't received any W-2's yet, maybe everything is running later this year? Last year we received all necessary documents in the first week of January and filed both state and fed taxes on January 18th. Grrr aggravating.

just did mine last night (turbotax) and I today I looked at my status and it said I should get my refund deposited on Feb 3. (if there are no delays or problems). :)

After spending 45 minutes of live chat w/ turbo tax--- I was able to transmit my federal return this evening. Per the schedule the IRS has posted-- I should get a 2/3 deposit too.

As for NY-- Turbo Tax states it cannot fix the errors until NY releases their new forms which should be early February. So, that one is going to have to wait. Which is okay because it's really the federal I'm after (it's much larger dollar wise).

Was it a hassle to get TT to do that?? I really could give a rats behind on filing the state tax this month, but I REALLY want to file the fed one since we are getting back a big chunk o'money, AND we are using some of that money to book our WDW vacation house! lol TIA!! :goodvibes

Ohh and for those who were wanting to know the release date schedule. If you have an HRblock account online, just click on the special link it gives you when it says "state not available" , and it shows the schedule. Or you can just tell me your state and I'll say what it says. lol

Also, are you using the online version, or the software? Who did you speak with? The lady I am talking to says I can't with the online version.

NYS is up I thought?

I used www.taxact.com to do mine. I filed federal only then the next day state was released so I filed that separate. Taxact is free for federal and 12.95 for state. Turbotax really screwed up my state so I think the version they released has a glitch with the dependent care credit. Taxact was perfect and there were no problems with the forms. I won't use Turbotax again.

Mine should be in my account next friday. Just in time for our trip :D

I did my federal online yesterday morning. I used freefile. If you meet certain income requirements, you can efile for free at certain websites. I used www .esmarttax. com It was really easy. I should be getting my refund in 1-2 weeks. I can't wait! I'm still waiting on my state taxes. When I checked the website yesterday, it wasn't available. I don't usually get much of a refund from the state, so I don't mind waiting a little longer for that one.

I filed online last year and it was the only way to go! So I'll be doing it again this year. :)

If you want to e-file for free, go through the IRS website (irs.gov). Click on e-file, follow the instructions on the screen or two and you will come upon a list of companies that you can e-file for free on. Some have limits on who can file free, others don't.

I live in Texas. We don't have state income tax, so I cannot help you with state taxes (sorry).

I just got our last W-2 today. I will be filing mine tonight.

Ours are filed online, but our account handles it all. It's just easier all the way around! We still don't have hubby's W2 yet though.

I also e-file for free. I start with the IRS website. Have my refund automatically deposited. I get it within a week or two. :teeth:
