I'm anxiously awaiting my W2, so that I can file and get some $$$. DH's w2 and our mortgage stuff has already appeared.

Last year, I'd already efiled on the 24th and had my refund on the 7th of February.

Waiting for our W2's as well. Then I'll tally up the damage and see how late we get to the Post Office this year on 4/15!

This is a first for me. I am all ready to turn it over to the accountant. Just waiting on a couple of things (w-2, 1099) which should be here by the end of the week.

I have an appointment with the accountant at the end of February. I think I'll call right now and see if I can move it up. I'm always concerned that we'll end up paying because of my business so it will be nice to get it out of the way. And, with any luck, we won't pay and we'll receive a refund just in time for our March WDW trip!!:teeth:

All filed and have gotten confirmation that the irs has 'accepted' our return and I'm anxiously waiting the refund!! :bounce: I know I filed about this time last year and got the refund direct deposited on Feb 1st.

:teeth:

Guess where a good chunk of my refund is going??!!

:earsboy:

yep filed and accepted!! this is the earliest Ive ever been able to get them done YAY!!

The efile said 7-10 days till the refund is here :) woohooooooo

We are waiting on DH's W2 and my 1099. They really take advantage of their deadline of January 31 to get that stuff postmarked by. Drives me nuts.

Got the last w-2 today, I've put everything into my tax program and not getting much of a refund right now but every little bit helps. :) Should be filing within a week or so.

FOr those of you who have e-filed, what program did you use? or how did you do it?
I used turb tax last year, but am goint to use tax cut this year. Wasn't sure how the filing would compare.
Thanks.

I am a big Turbo Tax fan, but used Tax Cut last year because of Intuit's decision to use a really intrusive copy protection scheme. Thank heaven Intuit is no longer using this scheme, because Tax Cut is a real dog. In terms of ease of use, Tax Cut cant hold a candle to Turbo Tax. It also raised 5 invalid error warnings regarding my tax return and it took me forever to get it to accept my numbers. I returned to Turbo Tax again this year and the whole experience was so much easier than last years battles with Tax Cut.

My advice, stick with Turbo Tax.

Filed and accepted. They said to expect the check about Feb. 7th:Pinkbounc We use Turbo Tax.

All done except for the tax info from daycare....all of mine is going to WDW!!!! AP discounts, here I come!

Yup! All filed and accepted! Refund will be deposited on Friday!!

wow, you guys are good.
I usually have mine done by the end of Jan but I am still waiting for all my bank stuff. I haven't received anything yet regarding my interest from my mortgage.
And can anyone tell me why I am paying my bank 6.5% for my mortgage and they are giving me 1.2% for holding my money??????????? Peggie

still waiting on W2's but my refund money is going to go towards paying off the rest of my car so that I can start saving the money I was paying every month.

we used Taxcut for the first time this time and Im really impressed.

Went very quickly, the errors were easy to solve and the tips were greta!

We are waiting for my W2 form. All the figuring has been done but we won't file until we get that confirmation. It seems like we had already filed by this time last year. I want to hurry up and file so we can add our refund in my Hawaii account.

Just a word of warning: If you own mutual funds and you've already filed, you may be in for a surprise....

The new tax laws that were implemented last year are causing many mutual fund companies to "reclassify" their dividends/capital gains. Reclassifications happen every year, but where normally a small percentage of reclassifications are done, this year it is expected to be somewhere in the 60 - 70% range. If the dividends/cap gains are substantial and are reclassified, you may have to refile. I work for a brokerage firm and we are recommending that clients file as close to April 15th as possible to try to capture all the reclassifications that may happen.

If you don't own mutual funds, then get your cash and enjoy your vacation :D
