I finally got a chance to ride it a bunch of times thanks to the new Express Pass line.

With my upside down bowling pin physique, I honestly feel that I can wiggle out (and have to hold myself in) while ascending vertically.

Anyone else notice this?

Hmmm, I've never felt like I wasn't secured, but I suppose different heights/weights/body types fit into the seats differently!

I did find the restraint system to be somewhat odd the first time I rode it - I just hadn't ever seen a coaster with that type of lap bar before.

Well, I hate to say this, but as of about 3 hours ago, there was an "incident" on the ride and it has been shut down indefinitely.

There have been NO details released, I just heard this from a few insiders.

If there's any more information I'll share it.

Hard to find any info about it. I see one tweet on twitter and that is it. Perhaps it was behind the scenes?

The only info I've been able to gather from twitter is a "life changing injury" happened, one train was stopped on the lift hill and one train stopped before the loading area (probably "stopped" by the ride operators I mean)...it sounds like they don't plan to re-open it for a while.

I'd be just as happy if they removed it honestly, it's been problematic from the start.

That's the same tweet I saw. Hard to imagine a big accident and there being no immediate news reports or tweets. I hope nobody threw stuff at the train again like at Dragon Challenge.

Orlando news 13 reporting someone hurt on ride. No details, but do indicate that the injured person was back at the park so it could not have been too serious.

Sounds like the ride came to a sudden stop and someone got hurt. Not sure why it stopped quickly though.

Getting information from other inside sources...some of this is SPECULATION on my part.

They have been testing new, better ride trains for the coaster, but they're for some reason much heavier than the old trains.

From what I've seen on another message board, they had an old train connected with a new train (there's a bar that connects between them). It seems there was some kind of e-stop possibly, but the heavier train wasn't able to stop as easily and had some kind of malfunction causing an injury.

At this point it could be something as simple as hitting their head on something, so the injury is possibly minor, but the issues for the coaster could be major.

The first time I rode it with DS I bruised both of us holding onto him so hard because I was SURE he was going to fall out. His arm had fingerprint bruises, and the underside of my arm was bruised from being pressed against the hard restraints to reach for him.

When we got home I had to find google images of the restraints, to see if it was possible for him to have fallen out.

And it's not. He was 8 at the time, and thin and trim, but the way the restraint goes over you keeps you from wriggling out. You would have to have your hips go basically backwards while your knees do the same for it to happen.

The images made me feel a lot better. I still dislike the ride (the things I do for my son, because I don't want to hold him back from everything but cannot let my dude ride all alone! and DH doesn't yet fit) and the climb is scary, but I'm pretty sure injury won't be caused by him slipping out.

So I doubt an adult would slip out, either.

I don't feel insecure from the restraints, I feel insecure cause 1) it wasn't built by a "major" coaster builder and 2) they built it wrong, someone miss measured so there was a like 1 foot gap or so. They actually had to build that one piece just for the coaster to be finished. I heard that from someone ages ago.

The article is extremely brief, but it looks like the injury was minor.

I've always felt secure on this coaster.

this is what I was going to say. Last night on the news, they stated the person was treated and went back into the park. In my opinion, if they were really hurt bad, they would not be going back into the theme park :confused3 at least I would not.

to answer OP.... no, I never felt insecure on this, I am a female average height of 5'6" and average build (no skinny minnie and no overweight).. I just have one complaint. I need glasses to read and cannot wear them on there, therefore I cannot "pick" my songs :lmao: I have set of numbers memorized and always punch that in ::yes:: hence, I listen to the same song each time :rotfl:

I admit that I am a little round in the middle and once that things is locked I will not fall out. I worry that the bar will not lock for me.

We went on it several times last week and didnt notice anything (other than a great ride!)

The first day we were there it was still closed, a few days ago. It did re open. Told our eight and nine year old what happened and they decided on their own to skip it. Oh well, we were all looking forward to it but I have heard of too many issues and problems with it and slender people or children. Google it and read it all the blogs and reviews then see for yourself and make your own decisions.

This is the picture I consoled myself with after some after-the-fact freaking out. Even if your hips/bottom started to go backwards in the seat while you are on your back going every-so-slowly upwards, how would your legs come out? It would require extreme, backwards flexibility. Now I'm going to assume someone without legs cannot go on this ride, because there wouldn't be knees to stop the slippage, but with knees and lower legs, I cannot see how one could fall out.

Secure - Yes.
Comfortable - No.

The ride (for me) isn't really enjoyable anymore. Didn't seem bad at first, but the last few times I've rode it, I've found it hurting my back, or crushing parts of me that shouldn't be crushed.:headache:
