Anyone feel like Disney has turned back on BLT?

I say this because our last few stays have been VERY lackluster. I think being part of the Contemporary, it does not get the focus needed. The grounds were pretty dirty on our 06/29 stay. Our room was nice, but the balcony still had old ashes on them. And my biggest peeve, which has happened 3 times in a row, is getting help for bags when leaving. I get it, we are far away for a bell hop to walk over, get our stuff, then walk back. However, don't offer the service if it such a big deal.

I am sorry to hear that, our stay on February was great, but I suppose it's easier to keep up with things during a slower time of year. Don't get me started on Bell Services at CR, they are a disgrace. We had our worst experience ever at Disney dealing with them, I am not sure it has anything to do with which part of the resort you are in.

Sorry your experiences have not been up to par. We have stayed at BLT a few times and have not experienced what you did.

We will be there in a month and will report back on our experience with Bell Services as we will be using them when we transfer from BWV and then when we leave.

I would expect that since BLT sales are mostly completed, the cleaning and maintenance schedules will normalize. During one of our stays a couple of years ago, we noticed that a Mousekeeper would clean the lobby and glass several time per day. She said that her job was to keep the lobby sparkling because they are bringing buyers through.

We also had a Bell Service issue, we checked in and when we got to the room we asked where the ice machines were. He said on the 5th floor and offered to get some for us. Took our ice bucket and we never saw him again. :goodvibes

though the bell services were part of CR - not BLT.

All services for BLT are out of the Contemporary. The only other things actually in BLT besides guest rooms are the community hall and TOTWL.

We stayed at BLT this past Saturday night. (One night stay before heading back to the airport. We'd been at Vero Beach for a few days before we checked in at BLT, and Wilderness Lodge before that.)

Bell Services was very helpful, but I'll admit they seemed befuddled by one of my requests. We had two owners lockers in the car. I didn't need them in the room -- we'd packed them for return to the warehouse the night before at Vero and had a very early flight the next morning. The 3 bellmen at the door all seemed confused when I told them I wanted them to take the lockers and hold them until the next day when they'd be picked up by the company. They finally seemed to get it, but I did hold my breath until getting the text that the lockers were safely back in the warehouse.

Our room itself was spotless, however, our balcony had several cigarette butts and a used band-aid on it. I called housekeeping and they took care of it quickly while we were down at the pool.

This was the first trip where we'd seen the changes to the bathroom sink in a BLT studio. They did a really nice job with it. You'd never know it had been changed.

The only things that really caught our eye were some material issues at the pool. There's a good deal of rust on the stainless steel that surrounds the slide area. There was also a section of the blinking blue lights out and several of the umbrellas were in really bad shape. My friend said he thought he'd read in the latest issue of Disney Files that the BLT pool had been refurbished. I didn't read the article myself, but told him surely it must have said a pool refurbishment was upcoming. (I really hope this wasn't the finished product.) The only thing we couldn't remember was whether the fire pit had been there before. Perhaps that was the change.

Why can't Disney implement a solution for the bees around the poolside beverage stations? I almost got stung again this year refilling my mug. (SSR's High Rock Spring pool has the same problem. They've solved it at the Paddock Pool by putting an air curtain in front of the machine. I wish they'd retrofit that at the other pools.)

Aside from a very loud shouting match at the pool between two dads that I was certain was about to break into a physical fight, we had a lovely evening all around at BLT. We ended our summer trip with fireworks from the TOTWL and the Electric Water Pageant from our balcony.

We were at BLT in early May and loved the 2BR unit. Bell services is definitely not one of the strong points. We had issues with getting our luggage that we had checked earlier in the day. It went like this - called to ask them to deliver bags - they'll be there in 20 minutes. After 40 minutes called to check on status -- they said the request wasn't in the system but they'd be right there. After another 20 minutes, and another call we got them.

We thought it was just an isolated incident, but our DD and family had the exact same experience when they got there.

Aside from that, we loved BLT. Loved being close to MK with the grandchildren.
