Anyone familier with airfare trends from MHT or BOS?

Solana131, thanks for sharing your experience.

Can I ask...because this is all new to me...how did you get the boarding passes delivered to your room??? And did you pay for EBCI on both legs of the trip?

We are having a friend drive us to the airport...he is like family and staying at our house with the dogs while we are gone. ( that's the plan as of right now....December is a long way away :) so,I don't thunk parking will be a problem.
From what I have heard you are right and MHT is a much easier airport to navigate....but we are fortunate too that Hartford and Providence ( as well as BOS and MHT ) are all about an hour and a half drive for us. So we have several options.

Any chances you want to take another trip in December with us to help us with all of this???? :rotfl:

Yes I did book the EBCI for both legs, just to be sure. I didn't do anything, I had planned on going down to the front desk and asking them to print the boarding passes that morning and they were just there when we got up. I didn't book the package with them, but they did know my flight info because we took the ME. I guess I never thought about how they knew :confused3 but it was pretty cool. If you are worried about it, just ask them about it when you check in.

And I would totally be open to another trip anytime....you paying?

They don't have a change fee but you don't get a refund..you get a credit towards future flights from what I understand. ( Great for people who fly alot..unlike us.) I don't usually book until about 3 months out but I went ahead and booked today at the $135 rate. Wish I could afford to pay the $20 more for jetblue as it will be just me with 5 kids but I can't. IT would also add to our expenses to get into Boston as we would have to bus down. Anyway MHT is so much easier and just 15m from home so easy to get a ride in. Guess I will just have to let the kids bring their DS's....they are allowed to use those on the flight right? If not it's gonna be a long 3 hours!!!!!

My mom bought our tickets. She booked them one week and then jumped down in price the next week, so she called them and they gave her her money back. It was almost a $500 savings! She was very pleased. She thought she would have to at least pay a change fee, but they did it for free. Don't know if that was a special case, but it worked for us :confused3

I tell you what Solana131.....if by chance I hit the lottery between now and then...you got a deal!!!!

It depends on the fare type. If she booked business class or anytime fare they are fully refundable. But the much cheaper wanna get away rates are not. They do not charge a change fee though.

Must have been the anytime fare then cause there is no way she would've booked business class! Mom's a cheapo :) I can say that because 1) she knows I love her and 2) she doesn't know what the DIS is

Well whatever you decide Groomer, have a great time! I have been crunching numbers here this morning to see if I can swing a girls only trip with my BFF for our birthdays in June. 30% off room-only right now. But SW has that stupid $135 each way thing again. Yikes, I can't believe that is the best price :) It would almost be more for the flight than the room! I would pay that for a week long trip, but not just a weekend getaway. Will have to keep crunching I think ;)
