Anyone familiar with Vivactil antidepressant?

I went to my doctor last week because I've been sleeping 9-10 hours a night, and often tired during the day, and he thinks I need Vivactil antidepressant. Anyone familiar with or used this? I've been on Effexor for over 2 years, and he wants to decrease my dose of Effexor and add this Vivactil. I'm really reluctant to take 2 antidepressants. Also, I don't see how my symptoms this time I've been prescribed an antidepressant in any way are the same as last time when I agree I was suffering from major depression. I really expected him to recommend some vitamins or something. Does anyone know what this is or how it works?
