My daughter has an interview with the U of Iowa for a doctorate program and I just booked a hotel for her on hotwire.com. I put in that I wanted Iowa City, paid for the reservation, and when it came up it said the Holiday Inn Express in Coralville, IA. Is this anywhere near the University?? Hotwire has great prices, but sometimes they drive me nuts, especially because they are non-refundable.

That is right by the University for the most part, you are good to go. If I remember correctly, that is the exit you take to get to the U.

My daughter is just finishing up as an undergrad there. We always stay in Coralville. It is just west of the river and campus. Much better selection there and more restaurant choices. Depending on which direction you are coming from it is the exit for the university. If you're coming from the east its the second exit.

Iowa City and Coralville are adjacent to each other.

Seeing you are from the Chicago area, I assume she is coming in from the east on Interstate 80.

Iowa City is just east of Coralville, so as she is coming in, she will pass the Iowa City exits and take the next one, which is Coralville.

She should be able to get to the University in 10 minutes from that hotel.
