Anyone have a rundown of which ships are considered "Voyager Class?" What itineraries do they run? Any comments from someone who's sailed one of them? Good/bad?

I was on the Navigator of the Seas and it is an awesome ship.

The Voyager class ships are:

Adventurer of the Seas
Explorer of the Seas
Navigator of the Seas
Voyager of the Seas

Go to www.rccl.com for the rundown of their itineraries.

i have sailed on the Adventure of the Seas, and we will be sailing her again in 2004. Absolutely beautiful ships:D Even though there are thousands of passengers on board you will never feel crowded. The adults only solarium pool area is heavenly. If you can afford it spring for a balcony cabin-well worth the extra money to be able to sit on your own balcony in the a.m. and eat your breakfast while you're gazing at the beautiful caribbean:D If you have any questions feel free to pm me-I've sailed with RCCI many times:D

kteacher: Thanks for the info. Do you know if they have a teens-only area and teen activities, like DCL does?

Pug -- yep. They have teen activities. We started sailing RCCI when I was 12, and have done 8 cruises since then, so I've been to the teen activities several times. It's a lot of fun! I haven't been on the Voyager class yet, but my parents have, and they really like them. (They just got home from an Alaska cruise on one!)

We sailed the Explorer of the Sea - Western Caribbean route.

Labadee (private island)
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Grand Caymen
Cozumel

It was fabulous!!

I would also recommend visiting www.cruisecritic.com once you decide on a ship. They can help you with tips as well as suggestions for excursions. Feel free to PM me if you want. If you decide to take that route I can share with you the excursions that we did.

We have cruised on the Voyager and the Explorer. Both are fabulous ships with plenty to keep kids of all ages busy. Both times we sailed the Western Carribean during April school vacations. The ships were full but not once did we feel crowded...except during days at sea when looking for a lounge chair on the pool deck can be challenging. I have found on the Voyager class ships, that while the food is good, it is not excellent. That is not to say that I ever had a bad meal. The private dining room, Portofino was wonderful. One of our best meals ever! There is an extra charge but well worth it. If you plan to do that, book early. The down side of a ship that large is that sometimes you don't even feel you are at sea. I do like an occasion rocking motion to remind me that we are not docked. :) I have noticed that RCI has better entertainment while Celebrity has better food. They are now both owned by the same company. Our next cruise is on the Millineum (Celebrity). There are those that feel that Celebrity is more geared to adults but one of the best cruises my DS had was on the Galaxy two years ago. There are fewer kids but given that there were 800 or more on our last cruise, there will still be plenty. Celebrity also has a great teen and kids program but no rock climbing wall.

We were on the Navigator last December - wow! What a "resort"! Unlike any ship I've ever been on before, with the promenade mall and it's evening parades, inline skating track, miniature golf course, rock climbing wall, Johnny Rocket's restaurant, and ice skating rink!

I have some pictures and the daily cruise compasses (daily info) posted if you want to get an idea on what's offered. I have to post though, that for some reason when you pick one of the daily compasses to look if it's too tiny to read you'll have to click on where it says "View" right above from "Fit Window" to "Normal" view! At least it will give you an idea of what's available during the cruises:
